3,3 is correct.
The extension that will give you the ACR card was 5.9.

I'd say it's about $10 a month cheaper then that K2. Still more expensive then most of the other places you might consider in SE Asia, but then again you don't have to leave the country when in the Philippines.

Re Resorts world.

Massive casino. Rake is 10% capped but not sure what level its capped to. I played the 50/100 PH after leaving Republic Night club. Game was pretty lose (I only played on game so no idea of the general standard on the whole). High stakes games were available. I saw 500ph blinds I think on the waiting list. One PLO game running. Free bottled water, not too sure about the other perks as I didnt stay long. Opening size is 10/ 15x bb at low stakes so it can be frustrating at times.

Amazed to see the money getting wagered at the pit games considering most people struggle just to live on a daily basis.

Moved to Infinity tower in FBC so I can put the odd person up/ show people around for a few days while you get sorted etc if anyone needs help setting up.

Hey guys,

1> if someone who is not from the US relocates to philippines, do they have to pay taxes on their online poker winnings?

2> also, what online sites are philippines-residents banned from playing on? what about revolution, merge, stars, ipoker in specific?

3> is online gambling on 'non-philippines-based' sites expressly 'legal' out there? i've read conflicting views on this

4> if a friend is willing to employ you in their business, would the work permit be good to stay for unlimited period and remove the need of all the tourist visa renewal hassles?

thanks in advance!!!

1. No because online poker gambling is illegal. So if you play don't tell anyone.

2. Residents are not banned by the provider

3. I think there are two legal online sports betting sites. Not sure of the names though.

4. Yes- you need a 9g. You are best to arrive as a tourist and apply when here. Be prepared for paperwork (going through mine atm and its a ball ache day 50 and I have had to get an extension on my original visa)

I thought poker was legal in Philippines. I did a bunch of research about it and found that it's legal and tax free but I haven't lived there...

Hmmm I am not too sure about the nitty gritty, I think it is illegal? I can't use BPI to deposit or withdrawl...

I just tried logging on to bet365 (is that ipoker?) anyway it wont let me log on just says

"We do not accept real money bets from your jurisdiction"

I have played in Thailand on bet365, but not for a few years.

Most if not all ipoker skins will be blocked in PH as they(ipoker/playtech) have offices and CS here in PH.

All poker sites that are philipine base block local players for it is illegal. with that in mind local players can still play on sites based outside the country. It is like any country that banned online games it is illegal but the law isnt going to chase each individual player. any earnings/winnings illegal or legal are taxable. just dont make a big thing out of it and you will be allright. on the other hand if you make a millionaire dollar score and cash it all at once to a local bank account then for sure you will attract all kinds of govt agencies such as a antiterrorist task force and your local IRS or whatever they call them there in philippines.

It's not explicitly illegal http://technology.inquirer.net/7899/...nline-gambling, and there have been politicians trying to make it so http://www.************advisory.com/...egal-42626.htm.

Whether it's taxable is another matter, but most of you are technically tourists and not residents so I think it doesn't matter.

I think part of the reason companies operating there won't want Philippine players is that they don't have to pay taxes if they don't have domestic revenue (or have to pay very little).

Casinos in philippines are government own and operated. They would not want a competitor taking its local customers away from them. in the other hand they want these online gambling sites to come into the country becuase of the tax revenue and also opening up some jobs. The requirement offcourse is for these sites to block local players. "Not explicitely illegal" what does that really mean? It is either illegal or legal and for philippines like most asian countries it is illegal. Are these guys really tourist in the country when they are looking to stay in the country for months or years at a time? And even if you categories yourself as a tourist it still does not mean you dont owe any taxes. But as I mentioned as long as you keep your activities hidden then you will be ok. Is ayone familiar with Al Capone? With all the things he has done all they could prosecute him for is for Tax Evasion.

But again what would I know all my infos are online articles like the above post.

Yea, in previous years it was bad until October-ish. It's supposed to be the worst in August and September, but lately it's just been light showers every once in a while or just drizzle. Weird but I'm not complaining.
