Due in Manila in a couple weeks. I want to stay longer for 21 days, but I need to show a plane ticket leaving PI within 21 days? Is there any flights that do partial or full refunds?

Looks like Manila to HK via phillipine air is the cheapest.

you just need a ticket showing you are leaving. Doesnt have to be within 21 days.

With Full Tilt down indefinitely I think I have to play 25/50 live or seek regular employment again.

Anyone have good estimates for hands/hour and win rate at Metro at those stakes? Haven't played NLHE with much frequency for over a year, but I have a decent amount of experience both live and online.

hi
considering moving to cebu soon, id stay a month at first to see if i like it. im in thailand so its just a cheap flight over.
so i have some questions about cebu would be great if someone can help me:
-whats the best part to live in? mandau seems like the center but not many beaches, id prefer something in the middle, not striaght in the city center not far out at some beach.
-can u rent motorbikes cheap to get around?
-is there any internet aircard/3g etc thats grindable in cebu? so i dont have to hassle to get a line installed if i only stay a month and the internet from the appartment doesnt work
-anyone done some mountainbiking there and would it be suicidal if i just buy a bycicle and ride it through traffic?

25/50 and 50/100 run all the time at RW (evenings). i've seen the 100/200 running on weekdays where people have more than 100k in front of them. i've only played 25/50 and 50/100 and the games are very soft. during the last APT event they ran bigger games and they were running every day i was there during the tourney.

also, i've played 100/200 at metro and that game was very good. never played in the 100/200/500 though, but i hear it's a ton of action.

If you have local friends its no problem, easy to get and cheap..the local weed is generally considered bad though if your used to the stuff from US, Canada etc...but some like it since it is not as strong.

But I would not suggest you trying to score on your own. Cops setting up tourist/foreigners is pretty common

I'm moving to the philippines around fall of 2011. I had a couple questions that was probably already addressed, but theres about 152 pages, i didn't want to go through them all.
Internet Question: I will be living in mandaluyong city, which is near manila im assuming.
Which is best internet to get there?
Power Outages: I will be grinding MTT's, so is this issue frequent? And if it is, what do i do to solve it?

Going to Philippines in mid August for vacation. Will definitely play some cash games or 1 of the events of the APT. After Manila we will go to Bicol to visit my gf's friends and family, but I am looking for another fun place for a copuple days after Bicol. I really dont want to spend a lot of time travelling so optimal would be somewhere easy by air or close to drive to from Manila. Thanks for any advice.

Cebu seems awesome, after have read all pages in this wonderful thread!
I'm planning a long trip as I write this to Cebu. I've gotten a couple of questions for you experienced fellas:

- I'm playing low stake and would love to be able to live cheap and save a lot of money while living better than I do back in Sweden. Will $800 per month cover a decent apartment with AC, food expenses, stable internet, gym membership and pocket money for clothes or a few drinks out per week? No need to have pool in the apartment or hookers . I just want to live simple but comfortable and meet new people, see new places every now and then and of course play some live donkaments.

- I saw someone asking for tsunamis, I guess Cebu is pretty safe since it lies kind of encapsulated? I freaking hate tsunamis, I have nightsmares of them all the time where I've died multiple times, and I have had true dreams before so yeah... .

- How much is an average meal out on a cheap/decent restaurant? I've been to Thailand, and I ate the best food of my life for $2-3 per dinner. I plan to save a lot time from cooking to play more poker instead (food is expensive in Sweden).

- Are there many volunteer jobs to be found? I'd like to help out people who are not as fortunate as we are.

- What kind of vaccination do you need to take before traveling to Philippines?

- Do the casinos offer good tournaments when APT/APPT does not run?

It would be cool to meet some of you 2+2ers when I arrive in autumn. You can never have too many friends!

When it comes to cost of living I personally spend slightly more than I did in Sweden. Rent is about the same for the same standard, internet subscription is more expensive so is utilities which cost me around 5k a month having a AC running all the time.

A night out is usually much cheaper so is transportation, DVDs, candy, softdrinks, alcohol etc.

Food is really where you decide how much you will spend each month.
I personally hate eating local food, one example is pork sisig which is grinded pork (ears, bones and other bad/cheap parts) fried with onion etc, an egg on top served with rice. I've tried close to 10 dishes now in hope to find something I like but I hate them all. Chewing on crushed bone fragments isn't my thing

With this I either cook myself (average cost is 200 per portion) or eat out (American, Thai, Italian, Chinese, Korean, French) which easily triple my costs of living. An average meal for me is between 500-1000 (75 - 150 SEK) which is comparable to Sweden. Also remember that portions here are smaller than in western countries so usually I need a starter+main or 2xmains to get full.

So if you find local cheap food that you like then its possible to live on $800 even if its close.
