Is it unusual that dinners are more expensive than lunches?;d I don't think so, but yeah maybe in some other countries the difference is smaller. That's probably coz Japanese traditional lunches are very simple and the cost of preparing one is very low. Another reason might be that Japanese ppl usually have very little time for lunch, but love spending long time for dinner (and drinking usually, which comes together). That's why lunch places are always noisy and full of ppl who just wanna eat anyhing anywhere and rush back to job.

Any advice on the best suited areas in Tokyo to stay at during a 4-5 day trip for a group of 4 people in their 20's. Looking to eat out in daytime; parks; cafes; general strolling around and not too far to go to bars in the night time.

Best video games arcade in Tokyo?

Good advice for first time go'ers to Toyko? Anything that must be done/seen/eaten?

Cheers

Having spent a lot of time in Tokyo as a tourist, a visitor and as a resident, I thought this blog post I came across a few days ago was mostly on point: http://unknowngenius.com/blog/archiv...o-do-in-tokyo/

Not to necessarily dissuade you from any of these generic recommendations if you want to give them a try, but I wholeheartedly agree with the author's main point:

Tokyo (like many places) is not a place where you go and tick a list of landmarks and must-see spots. By far the most interesting thing to do in Tokyo is to pick a random neighbourhood (or possibly less random, based on your sensibilities), walk around, explore and get drunk with the locals.

Just wondering if there are any sort of "under the table" jobs one can get while staying in japan? I know in china they have teaching opportunities and stuff. I'm a 21 year old canadian with no higher education than highschool. I really want to visit japan and possibly live there for 2-3 months but its one of the most expensive asian countries. My standards aren't too high, just something that would cover my rent and maybe a few other stuff. I know japan isn't really a country that has a high demand for foreigners (especially ones without a college level education) but I thought I'd still ask. So would there be any opportunities for me while staying there?

hi
I was recently accepted into an exchange program and I will be staying in Tokyo from march till september next year (student visa). From my limited knowledge, it seems online poker isnt an issue in Japan. Whats the best way for cashing out though (Party, ipoker) for like 500-1k usd a month? I have no idea about japanese banks/procedures etc. Thanks in advance for any help.

I am going to Tokyo this Xmas holiday. When i look for information about that, I found a good choice for you, if you need to use internet in Japan. http://en.ivideo.com.tw/jp/top.html Because this is my first to Japan, I would need to check the google map, this is a good idea that I can use in Japan. And now I can change my post on blog for free use. I will be in Asakusa during Xmas, if you need to get on line, please contact me. Because I can share the internet with you, too.
