Hello im from canada and im looking to relocate for the winter to play online poker. Argentina came to mind, im thinking of costa rica too or panama.

What are the upside of those places and which part of the country would you choose ?

I'm not very involved at all in the argie scene...but tonnns of players in BA, idk any in mar de plata. tons all over costa - and panama city sucks + internet reliability is gonna be a challenge in parts of the country worth living in. Sounds like you want to surf - look into Peru or ecuador as well if so

Lots of grinders here, mostly in Buenos Aires. I'd avoid Mar del Plata: it's crowded in January/Feb and a ghost town the rest of the year.

How do you withdraw from your Stars to USD cash or pesos at a good rate in Argentina?

Directly withdrawing pesos at ATMs will get you the official, bad rate. Is there any solution for poker players to profit from the rates?

The casino has games up to 25/50 pesos with 5% uncapped rake. They are very beatable.

Lots of underground clubs. Some you can get in, some you can't. In those you can't there are massive games. In those you can there's some decent games. Rake is terribad in all.

been to Puerto Madero casino a few times. Agree with Sapol although it was tilting to get blinded down during toilet break

One of my laptops broke down recently and I think its the motherboard so took it to the HP shop and was told it can't be replaced here in Argentina :S :S

Any suggestions on where to get a new laptop? It seems lol expensive here.. Like 50-100% more than North America.

his name is ricardo, Aussie/Argie, and he's awesome. Brought him my busted hardrive in laptop saturday morning and was grinding mtts the next day. Very fair price imo and can get quality parts if you need them.

Lived in BsAs for 8mo this year and there are guys in the poker community that can get you USD or Pesos at a good blue rate for stars +vig. Find the skype chat group and work it out.
