Hi, I'm Bryan. I like to travel a lot. I used to keep a couple blogs here on moving to Mexico, then travelling South America - felt like it just got played out eventually and a ton of people ended up moving there so I didn't really have anything new to offer.

This is my new dear diary where I'll post pics and happenings when I feel like it.

In Bangkok, Thailand right now and will probably cruise Asia until summer, then move back to South America. I like skateboarding, fat girls, vegetables, sun, skinny girls, and alcohol.

Since I last posted about a year ago, I got lasik, partied a lot in medellin - moved to Pereira, Colombia for a month - stayed in Lima, Peru for awhile - stayed in the amazon jungle of Peru for a month - traveled Europe for 4 months with my mom, and now have been in Bangkok for a month and about to start exploring around Asia a bit. It's okay to have a smartphone here and you don't become an instant mark for thieves, so I'll take some pictures along the way.

Meh will post some pics later, thai internet keeps being thai internet

you sound like a sweetheart, looking forward to more questions. In short - super busto? no idea man, I usually spend like 2-3k per month and try not to spend over 1k on rent ever, but rent varies from like $300-800 usually. I don't really care what happens financially, just try to nit it up in a ton of spots and feel bad when I spend > $100 on a night out. 2014 was like 3-4 months of halfass grinding + 20k downswing, so actually planning on working a ton more this year.

Anyways bangkok life has been rad so far, but taking off tomorrow to go to the islands for 5 days, then back to bkk for Songkran (big water fight celebration), maybe Pattaya for couple more days of songkran, then back to the islands for more scuba/cliff jumping/drinking too much. Then maybe cambodia for a month. then maybe vietnam. Got a gf in bangkok now so might actually stick around for a bit longer as she's super fun and helps curb my degenerate-ness. Too many pics of the last couple months:

all my crap:

condensed travel gear:

god I miss colombia:

Really rad natural gotttttdam hot hot springs in Colombia:

Jungle touring:

gettin tribal ***nudity warning****:

Spoiler:

Getting wrecked skating in Colombia:

the only thing I ate for 2 weeks in Istanbul:

Medusa head in this underground water cavern in Istanbul, upside down so you don't turn into stone

Nice to be homies with owner of private skatepark and a photographer:

Red-faced monkey in the Peruvian jungle at a dope rescue center. Saw an ocelot (so dreamy), ex pickpocketing monkey, more cute monkeys rescued from blackmarket animal trade, jaguar, crazy turtles, toucans, sloths, parrots, bunch of butterflys. I like the jungle.

Really cool caves in Spain that you take a rowboat through good underground vibes and energy - Coves de Sant Josep:

Me and momma in Portugal:

I guess nobody really cares about a photo of me and my mom, haha

Yea that feels like enough pics for now, I'll save the Thailand ones I have for when I get back from the islands and can post more stuff besides bangkok streets, food, and partying

hopefully not a dumb question but poker is your main source of income?
I will be out of debt by the end of this year and would love to pick up and travel around but I haven't played online in a while. could you add a bit about your usual schedule? wake up, go to the beach, play some tourneys etc. what about cash, how do you withdraw while travelling?

yea, usually. Take it on planes, trains, sailboats, buses, tuk-tuks, taxis...you name it. Aholes at florida airport said I couldn't bring a box on the plane and made me throw it away...so now it's just super janky wrapped in the static-wrap and I just carry it in my hand. Fits fine in overhead for planes tho, now I just gotta be careful since its not protected in the box. If you don't need a biggish monitor the USB ones are prob ideal.

I was in looove with that girl. was so hard to not just stare at her tits all day. another better shot of her:

the legend of Medusa is if you stare at her in the eyes then you turn into stone...or something. SO this place had 3 medusa heads, upside down and 1 each direction sideways because then you don't turn into stone if you look at her.

yeah. haha man everyone thinks i'm really, really horrible at poker. no offense taken, but really I get that a lot. guess its better that way.

no 'usual' anything. I'm only comfortable if I am uncomfortable, so really hate routines for more than a short period.

skrill, moneybookers, debit cards from various banks in various countries.

Alright so I'm trying to slowly catch up on blogging my travel life, but have spent the last month traveling and partying as well and don't want to do a monster post, so I'll pick up where I left off.

Moved to bangkok, partied a ton. fell in love with the chaos and how goddamn easy it was to live. Met so many rad people. There's a reason for so many 18 and 19 year old brits and aussies and euros and everyone to be traveling in thailand... it's just insanely safe, cheap, and easy. I tell people I live in S. America and they're like oooooo I wanna go. I respond with, no buddy, not yet....trust me ur not ready. A lot of the backpackers literally just go to whatever tourist thing in the day and take pics, yell in louder english when somebody doesn't understand them, and get hammered all night. Saw so many douchebags when I was traveling thai and doing the hostel thing... I think there's a reason that many people who moved to colombia from thailand ran into a lot of problems and sketchy situations when they got there. Fwiw S. america is fine, I just wouldn't recommend it for people who have never traveled before and want to get as ****faced as possible every night. Some street smarts are required. none in thailand.

Chinatown - bangkok. Was only here one night with gf, but cool dirty place. We got the whole fish nibbling your feet foot massages and niether of us could take it for more than 5 seconds, just died laughing. Guess we're ticklish. I was trying to chug beer the whole time to just forget about the goofiness but didn't work

fish tank of tickle death:

Anyways I partied a lot, had too much sex and degen nights, then got a gf. Lived off of 7-11 frozen microwave meals, street sushi, and street food (didn't have kitchen). Made some money from an MTT bink but didn't get the volume in that I intended to. Studied a decent amount and now my study group is doing video reviews with my original coach every week, which I'm really happy about.

Went to some islands for a week, partied my ass off for songkran 3 day water-fight, went to more islands with the gf. Snorkeled a lot, should have died riding a motorcycle for the first time, as I just say F brakes, I wanna go fast!! Also F helmets, its too hot. Confirmed idiot.

Now I'm in Cambodia, gonna stay here for a month, and I'll write more goodies about cambo next update... but I feel like I'm back in South America ghettos - so basically I couldn't be happier

Floating market. Went to one with gf as her family runs a tea shop there, took a cool boat tour

one of my go-to's....noodles and duck with some veggies (sometimes do chicken, thai's have pork like 80% of the time tho)

fire show on koh phi phi, they did some really crazy ****. will upload videos once I move into apartment

Good sunset on last night in Koh Tao

One of my favorite meals in thailand down some random alley near the river. $3 for salad, then shrimp and squid with veggies, noodles, rice, chili... and soup and a plate of watermelon. stoked, didn't even know all that extra stuff was coming

Literally have a million pics like this, as my main songkran crew was like 7 people with 4 go-pros attached to our guns. I felt like I won songkran. Faceshots for the win. Ice cold water ear shots were my specialty, man I bummed out so many people. Anyone in dry clothing was annhilated by like 5 of us just ramsacking them

the crew:

and **** that feels like an update and a half. almost caught up.

People like you are what makes Songkran such a **** holiday. Deliberately shooting untreated water into people's ears is the act of an absolute douchebag. I assume you also throw water in the eyes of passing motorcyclists. Would be hilarious if they fell off and injured themselves, amiright?

get off your high horse man, pretty big assumption to just think I am throwing water into a driver's eyes that would basically be assault or attempted manslaughter in any 1st world country. you are almost correct to assume I'm a douchebag given that most tourists in thailand are exactly that - but no old people and nobody on a motorcycle, anybody else is fair game. If you are walking around koh san road, silom, or any of the ~5 major places where 95% of people are soaking wet and have guns, then ur getting blasted as well. I heard something like somebody died every 2 minutes in bangkok on the road during songkran. The aussie guy with the selfie stick (who took selfied every 5 minutes while screaming whooooooo, obv), I had to tell like 30 times to not shoot x or y person. Food carts also off limits.

Didn't think about untreated water, but meh. Better than chang mai where everyone uses a big stagnant infested river water.

It's not really, most people seem to think it's absolutely hilarious at songkran.

Yes, I understand that. But what you are doing is deliberately trying to injure people by deliberately squirting water at high pressure into the most delicate parts of the human body (the ears and eyes). If you can't understand the difference between having a fun water fight and deliberately trying to hurt people using the water fight as an excuse then see my earlier post.

At which angles does the magical transformation become viable? I don't know, as far as ridiculous ancient legends go, the physics don't seem real well thought-out.

to spiv - want to thank you for all of your contributions to thailand and other asia threads... saw your join date of 10+ years ago and figure you're prob older and have been in thai forever - honestly I would hate songkran too at that point especially assuming what it probably used to be and that its turned into a ****show the majority of the time. 2 days of being soaked for 12+ hours and I got sick as well and couldn't even make day 3. anyways its all in fun, editing thailand recap video now and some people I will smash with water and they get shocked, mad for a second, then start laughing maniacally and coming at me trying to get me back.

its only the angles you question... not the whole she was a mortal virgin, child of earth and ocean with 2 immortal sisters, who got raped which turned her hair into snakes. went to africa, shook her head, and now thats why there's poisonous animals there? physics work out fine on all that I suppose

i don't knowwwwwwww. I spend like 2 hours every day debating wtf im gonna do. medellin maybe. periera just started construction on a mega skatepark, and I love costena people. 'Good months' in Lima are also amazing, I'm really happy there - plus think I need another month of ayahuasca, as I really didn't finish the process. Then there's more of argie I wanna explore, want to do ski season in bariloche, and also LAPT finals in brazil this year and I'm thinking about going and staying for a year+ and learning portuguese. haha and those are just some of my main latin options. In Asia I still wanna check out vietnam, taiwan, phils, indo, and possible ski season japan. bleh. PDC sounds cool, lots of friends there - just feel like I would get stuck in poker player party grind life.

oooo possibly, I play on like 5 skins but lately they've been really bad about not approving any of my docs, so cutting down a lot of ipoker volume. 100nl is pretty damn reggy there anyways would you say?

To finish off thailand -

I'll never get over how weird and foreign the food is there, everywhere you go. Whether its brightly colored whatever, balls of everything, anything you want on a stick, overwhelming smells of giant street food markets, crazy food is just so in your face there.

squid is def my new favorite go-to. I've had it plenty before but it's just all over here. Cooked it from fresh squid form for the first time last night as well. Weird little things, no omega's but I guess it is one of the healthier seafood options assuming you don't fry it, like as shown here at chatuchak weekend market:

also these crazy little candy tacos everywhere, from big like this to little bite-size minis:

Did a small skate competition while in bkk, got 3rd. meh. Honestly I skated super well and should have gotten 2nd, the other dudes were better than me to be fair but fell a lot. Was fun day, main event was a flowboard contest and saw a bunch of rippers. got drunk and made a bunch of local skater friends

Most of my scuba pics/video came out poorly...guess you need a red filter to shoot underwater, oh well. Basically saw tonnnns of schools of different fish. Sometimes they'd bite me super hard, kinda scary. Saw 5 baby reef sharks, octopus, rad coral obv, tons of barracuda and giant schools of needlefish. Only did 2 scuba dives as my ears got worked and also fins rubbed my feet raw - but did a ton of snorkeling which was fine since it's very shallow reef in a ton of spots.

Rented a room on the beach with gf in koh tao for 5 days, was nice. View from bedroom window:

great girl, although as she says she kinda holds me back a bit. Tried teaching her how to swim, snorkel, hike, ride moto, etc. Don't think I'll go back to try and make anything big happen with her. reminds me of this song

me and girl at 'love viewpoint', really dope views. yea she's bigger, super thick legs. twatever, I like it like dattttt. top 3 blowies lifetime and sweet girl.

Alright so I'm in Cambodia now. This place is craaaazy. Was gonna head to vietnam but its some holiday and visa was gonna take 5+ days to sort, so just found an apartment here which was super easy. Paying too much ($650) but love the neighborhood, that was really final factor. Also don't have to do dishes as maids come every other day and clean everything. Also have a nice pool and would like to start swimming. hot as hell here.

So I get around everywhere by just skating and holding onto tuk-tuks or motorcycles. It's really funny how blown away people are. Maybe just such a poor country and they don't see skaters, but I get old men that stop what they're doing to point and yell at me, every tuktuk driver just thinks its hilarious, some guy today pulls out his cell phone while on a motorcycle behind me and takes pictures for like 3 minutes straight. Little dirty kids on the street selling candy always put down their crap and come to steal my board and ride around on their knees, stomach, feet. Hookers outside call all their friends out and I hold their hands while they roll around in their high-heels. It's so strange, as I've been in a ton of 3rd world but nothing where a skateboard is so foreign. Def wanna start getting some pics of that stuff. Really nice because traffic here is fuuuuucked so I'm literally faster on a skateboard since I just weave up to the front, cross the redlight between cars, and grab on to the next tuktuk.

Everyone speaks english it seems, although its really bad english. Tilt smashed a mouse because it was taking like 5 clicks to get through, bought a new one for $5 and handed her 5, she's like "okkkk, 4 dollars good". haha, thanks lady. They use USD here which is weird, and then small change is in 4000 to 1 Cambodian riel, which is basically as valueable as argentinian pesos.

Super dirty here, honestly it's like the tijuana, tegucigalpa, or managua of asia. All-you-can-eat buffet next door to me for 2.50 lunch, 5 dinner. Ate 7 plates last night and wonder if I'm gonna get banned. Staff just kinda laughs at me when they see me go back for more. Very good mix of western + Khmer food.

Where I say I'm from - Long Beach, California... has the highest population of Cambodians outside of Cambodia since the genocide, in which 25% of the people where killed. Many fled to Long Beach as it was one of the first port cities they came to in the US, so I used to skate and party with a tonnnnn of cambodians every night for years. Kinda cool because I tell people where I'm from and they're like 'yeaaaa I got family there!!'

So a lot of grinding ahead for me. Don't think I'm going to get a girlfriend here, which is kind of a shame since girls are dark and a bit funny looking - just my style, lol. I might tinder it up in a couple days when I'm already over it with the poker grind.
