I've been trying for some time to take advantage of the bonus books promotion with Everest poker, unfortunately without any success. The problem is that I can't figure out a way to deposit with Everest. So far I've tried 2 different VISA cards (TD and RBC) and 1 Mastercard (MBNA). I also tried using Moneybookers, but when I specify that the money will be used for gaming purposes, the transaction to upload funds to my moneybookers account (via visa/mastercard) is also declined.

Has anybody from Canada managed a way to do this successfully and economically? So far it's just been more trouble that it's been worth.

When did you make the deposit? I think Visa may have changed their policies as of Sept 1, 2009.

Does everest support direct debit from bank accounts? If so, i find that's the best method. For a Visa that will work, they will charge you a $5 cash advance fee, and you'll be charged the customary high interest from the get go.

No, they don't direct debit from bank accounts. I also asked if I could just send a cheque, but that's a no go as well.

I used my BMO Mastercard probably about a week ago, worked fine.

i use moneybookers to upload money to and from everest all the time

you generally need to do some sort of verification process with moneybookers. they take a small deposit from your card/bank account (random amount between $0.01 and $0.99 or something) and you have to enter how much it was.

it was kind of a pain in the ass for me at first because they did it in euros and my bank account showed it in CAD so i had to do it again and keep track of what the exchange rate was.

To activate entropay do they charge your credit card a fee which you then have to verify the amount?

Also, I'm assuming your credit card treats transfers to them as a cash advance?

Moneybookers sounds like it would work well except that I can't use my credit card to fund it (because it declines gaming related transactions) and sending a bank transfer seems cost prohibitive given the amount I want to deposit isn't that much.

I signed up for Click2pay as well, but their support hasn't responded to 2 emails I've sent and it's been 48 hours, so I'm very leery of dealing with them.

i dont recall of any fees when i had to activate entropay and as for cash advances i dont see any interest accumlating on my credit card due to a transfer to entropay.... i think it records the transaction as a purchase rather than a cash advance...(hope that answers your question)

Just signed up with Entropay with no problems. That was much much better than trying to use Moneybookers or Click2pay.

There was no verification process for the credit card (e.g. where they charge you a nominal fee that you then have to tell them the amount). It remains to be seen whether my VISA will count loading Entropay as a cash advance. Will post again when I find out.

My credit card did not charge a cash advance fee. All in all it was a pretty good option!
