Re: Which books do you recommend?

I ended up choosing 3 books to start my poker education with and I am pretty happy with my choice!

1) Getting Started in Hold'em
2) Theory of Poker
3) Professional No-Limit Hold'em

The first is a great introduction to Hold'em (both Limit, NL Cash Games, and NL Tournaments), that touches on many topics that the second book - a definite must read, IMO - goes into depth with. The third book (I'm still reading the second one) looks more advanced than the second, but 100% understandable if you understood the concepts of the previous books, which is everything I could've hoped for.

After I'm done with these 3, and am able to apply all I learn, my next purchases will most likely be the Harrington books.

Everyone raves about 'raisers edge' by elky but joining a training site will probably be more helpful than reading any book plus if you are beating cash games you'll prolly fair good in the MTT ring

Depends on what you wish to learn? Pokermath? Watch Pokermath videos. Game Theory? Watch Game Theory videos.

If you are new to a type of game I would focus on 'pure' theory first and then start with videos where the 'teacher' plays and explains. Oh, also, it should take you longer than 30 minutes to watch a 30 minutes video, otherwise you

a) are a genius
b) aint doing it right
