Which books do you recommend?

Hi there,

I'm thinking about getting the 5 books bonus program and I'm wondering which books the community would recommend.

I'm an 8 game player (played a lot of nl, plo and plo8 before switching to 8 game) and I'm interested in books that would increase my skill overall for this game. I already have Harrington on cash games 1 & 2 and I don't play HU or short handed (only 6+ games) so you don't have to recommend those books

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Just noticed this is probably the wrong forum to make this topic (should be in books and publications!) Mods feel free to move/lock thread

If they have it, get One of a Kind, the Stu Unger biography.

Brilliant read on so many levels

Agreed, just reread it. Amazing, but won't help your game at all

Super System 1,2 are must read, but will probably not going to give you any of the usable information at playing.

Bobbo's book is worth of reading, Little Green Book, Little Blue Book, Zen and the art of poker,..

Re: Which books do you recommend?

Thanks for the recommendations all! Most of them are not in the store tho :/

I was interested in DUCY, draw, split and omaha books but all of them are type A which means I would have to clear multiple bonus

Better to clear some small kickback bonuses and buy the books myself

Thanks again for the suggestions guys!

Re: Which books do you recommend?

I would DEFINANTELY recommend

1.) Professional No Limit Hold Em by Ed Miller, Matt Flynn & Sunny Malta
this one teaches how to think like a pro

2.) Harrington on cash games vol.1
teaches u all the basic concepts you need to understand

3.) Harrington on cash games vol. 2
more key concepts

These 3 books are a absolute must

Re: Which books do you recommend?

I 'm looking into the book deal for my wife I have hold em poker for advanced players 21st century edition which I believe covers most strategies for intermediate, advanced and beginners also. The new book analytical no limit and harrington on 6-max look like definites but seeing you can only choose two from column a it is a toss up between Harrington on hold em I ,II and III and Harrington on cash games I,II.Concerning column B ,if you play 8 games you can probably find a wider range to choose from than myself and my wife as we are basically concentrating on Hold 'em for now. There is a few sites that have reviewed these books as well as others and offer an objective view(not to say that 2+2 are biased) which pretty much guarantees the quality of all these publications.
