Online Social Behavior

Favor from you all...

My friend is completing his thesis on social behavior online and requested that I post some questions to get feedback from you guys. Any feedback you can give regarding any question would be very helpful in his project.

-How do you think behavior in groups varies when the group is online?

-In what ways do you believe people with whom you interact online are no completely honest with their profile descriptions?

-In what ways do you think online groups encourage honest/dishonest communication amongst members?”

Please answer any or all three in thread of by pm.

Thanks.

Re: Online Social Behavior

Two questions:

Do you think this is BBV4L?

You said your friend is finishing his thesis, yet here you are gathering basic data that would be useful when someone is just starting a thesis. Did he just bull**** his entire thesis? If so, lol social sciences.

Correct online social behavior includes using the letters NSFW in the thread title if the post contains half-naked women.

Re: Online Social Behavior

One difference I think is that online there is a less stratified social hierarchy.

they seem kinda obv. u can lie online, only thing u have to worry about is what info you have already given that can lead to other info. such as if u gave someone u facebook info now u cant lie b/c someone can check ur fb and see ur not actually a 6foot 2 strikingly hansom guy, and are short + fat etc. they encourage honest info about factual info b/c of how easy it is to factcheck while at a computer, but encourage dishonest info about personal info imo

I honestly think you would gather more representative data (if that is what you are really after) from the OOT forum. Why you picked SMP is a mystery. Thread will be moved.
