WSOP PLO Events: Which ones are you playing? WSOP PLO Events: Which ones are you playing?

Greetings PLO 2+2ers!

(I posted this here and in the high stakes PLO forum just to cover my bases)

I hardly ever start threads but I thought I would start a thread concerning this year's WSOP PLO events. I'd be interested in talking with anyone who has played the 6-max and 9-handed events in the past, along with hearing about who is playing what this year.

I am considering playing the 6-max PLO event ($3K) near the end of June, as 6-handed PLO is what I play for cash on Bovada.

Unfortunately, my tourney experience (live and online) is somewhat limited. I've played in a few live tourneys (one at Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh) and online FT back in the day. Currently Bovada hardly spreads high buy-in PLO tournaments and hardly any (if any at all) 6-handed PLO tournaments.

Anyway, happy to talk with other players about their Series plans for PLO.

Cheers.

I believe there is a $545 this year on June 9th Thursday. Might be a good event to wet your feet and get a good sense of the level of live action for PLO. I believe it is also the lowest PLO event ever offered with unlimited rebuy up to entry cutoff.

That's a good point and idea. My only hesitation with that is the rebuy aspect of it. I would be more interested if it was a single buy-in, just because those rebuy tournaments you never know what dynamic to expect. Generally, very loose in the beginning. But that can work to the advantage of a player who only wants to play for one bullet.

Absolutely. No point in playing if you can't fire at least three bullets. Played the $1500 PLO the last two years. Great event, lots of bad players with bad play. And lots of room to play because of no antes like all PLO tournaments. Hoping to play 10k PLO championship for first time if I can make it out at that time. The 3k 6-max looks awesome too! Good luck in whatever you decide!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm really looking forward to playing, just can't decide which event(s). It looks like with scheduling and what not that I may very well plan my summer around the WSOP next year in lieu of haphazardly trying to put it together at the last moment.

That's interesting about the $1,500 PLO event getting a lot of bad players. I've never played so I wouldn't know. How deep did you run, if you don't mind me asking?

That's awesome that you may do the 10K PLO championship! I'd be super stoked about that as well. Good luck!
