WSOP Main Event - BVB vs. Dominik Nitsche WSOP Main Event - BVB vs. Dominik Nitsche

despite everything this is 9 max pre ante super deep poker. there is very little incentive to go ballistic to win a pot of 1.5bb preflop bvb. I'm all for punting early in soft 10ks but this is a little nutso even for me.

hey at least he semi-punted vs. one of the top 1% toughest ppl in the field rather than going broke w/ KK vs AA against an 80 yr old woman sb v bb.

is that what happened to you or something?

I don't get the joke.

Not at all a joke or a put-down, but last yr in the main one of my buddies got into like a 6-7 bet raising war vs an old woman SB v BB and he had KK and she showed the blade obv and busted him when he had >100 BB.

My point is if you're going to go to war at least you did it in a spot where the bounty is a great player and not a predictable player who is going to slowly bleed chips. Guys like Phil Ivey/Negreanu/Hellmuth etc. get the most tilted by people who play like you especially when they don't know you, because you take thin spots vs them and play a game of chicken, which they don't want.

Actually if Dom didn't know your style he played it really poorly by flatting the 4b and continuing on that flop w/ AQo. He had no reason to get into an egofest when you could just be a bladed fishy.

The only thing fishier than fishy open book ABC poker is fancy ego leveling poker.

After this preflop war to call with AQo for 27bb a 4bet and then find yourself calling another 27bb with nothing to generate a 109 bb pot is requiring steel nerves, nano technology eyes at the table or 1000bb i dont care lets test him stack lol. As for bikram it requires an i can see the future has a chop lifeline freeroll bluff used in that hand.

800 pre to get a bigger 3bet size so ur gigantic 4bet has more leverage

open folding is ridiculous, the jew said it all already

Id start preflop by constructing a limping range with him on my left - mostly bvb. Adjust to him before he adjusts to you. Once he sees you limping his opening sizing will probably increase so already have a plan. In this situation Limp call pre and cc flop.

Turn is interesting to me. I think a lot of his range at this point is 77-QQ and AJ, AQ. Im just wondering if there is any merit to c/s turn if we think he folds AJ or AQ.

I actually think there is some merit to betting the turn small and then if he calls - checking the river.

lol dom played his hand perfectly, I don't see this being very good in the long run since AQ was the bottom of his range that you caught. he's definitely playing his mid-pairs to absolute monsters this way too. he pretty much has to have no 5-betting range here so I'd be vary to begin with.

he seems to know you're getting somewhat annoyed and will make a move to his 3-bet. if he hadn't known that, he would just flat your open from sb and play AQ fairly deceptively IP.

Him knowing that you will come over the top somewhat light, he can call IP with his entire range, because he gets way more value by just calling with his monsters instead of 5-betting.

However, I believe this must have definitely earned you some respect for future BvB wars and made him step off the heatplate a little to go ballistic on you.

Generally, I thought he was less aggro against me after this hand.
