Second level of the WSOP ME. I have a mediocre relatively tight table draw. Only excellent player though is on my direct left Dominik Nitsche (AINEC). He hasn't been playing pretty wild but seems to be picking on me fair amount whenever I open in the hijack or later, he's been 3-betting me pretty liberally (like 75% of the time). My best guess is that I've been opening a pretty standard LP opening range for a 21/17 player like myself in the first level so a little frustrating to me that he may perceive that I'm trying to steal his positional advantage and the softish players in the blinds and I feel like it's making me difficult to play pots in position.
Blinds are 100/200. I have around 25K. He covers. I raise in SB to 600 with A9o, he 3 bets me to 1800. Hero?
If he's raising ~75% of the time you open, why open A9o? Obviously it is a ~top 20% hand, but it plays like dog***** post flop OOP. Why not tighten your range pf for a bit (maybe the rest of level 2?) and go from there? You really are not losing that much opportunity wise and You don't have to win a hand every orbit when you are this deep.
I agree with having a limping range but think A9 is too strong to be in it....as played you can either call or 4b - I like calling more then 4bing but really depends how comfortable you'll be postflop and how tough hes going to play
If You think he is light there, thats an easy 4bet. If You flat You ll have to float a lots of flops and You never know where You stand if he is 3betting a wide range of hands.
P.S. A9o doesnt play that good postflop especially when You are OOP.
there arent that many good runouts for our hand
are u just lol calling 3 streets on random dry boards? seems like a prty good way to get pwned
Uhm. Considering value we get when he barrels A high boards, paired boards T52 type board I think we are doing great if we can play somewhat decent post flop. If you are so weak with your post flop play you probably shouldnt even play poker
really stupid to get in a spot oop vs the only winning player at the table in the super slow and deep main with A9o PRE ANTE. idc what silly calculations you can do or assume about his range here to prove its a small amount +cev.
what do u guys think about just firing out mass chips?? like 1400 to win 300???
we would be risking 1300 to win 300. for +ev chips in the scenario i just said, we have to take it down pre 81% of the time and that's not counting post flop equity, or him 3 betting though. guess at this point we would have to look into our own play a bit, and decide how he would range us.
