Re: Wsop event 2 hand -- all my options seem to suck

Do you think that he leads strength here? How does the opponent play draws? This almost has to be a protection bet or a shot in the dark on a terrifying board.

range: AQ, AJ, AT, KK, KQ, KJ, KT, QQ, QJ, QT, Q9?, JJ, JT, TT, 99. J9s?, air
comb: 12, 12, 8, 3, 9, 9, 6, 3, 9, 6, 12(x), 3, 6, 1, 6, 12(x), air?
taking out Q9 and J9 the sum is: 93
did that quickly in my head, might have some errors.

A raise folds out a ton of better hands. Probably only getting it in with sets.

Comes over the top with only sets he folds: 93% of the time (1-7/93)
Comes over the top with sets and two pair: 70% of the time (1-28/93)
Comes over the top with KK, KQ, sets, and two pair: 59% of the time (1-39/93)

You are running 32.8% against the loosest jam range.

chip EV = .59*~2.5k - .41 * ~2k <- [6.5k - (.328 * 14k)]

Raise/call is chip +ev.

Really guy? Your whole post is garbage..... This MIGHT be just ok/meh in a cash game but absolutely dreadful ESP in a WSOP event.....

If you call on the flop he will often check behind you on the turn. Thus folding on the flop can't be right.

My goodness, if suited broadways arent in some of your guys defending ranges against aggro opponents then what is?

pretty much this.......

picking up fd on turn would be nice though and would somewhat increase the bet size I'd call.

reads r helpful here calling is for sure not wrong but i would tend to barrell blank turns with all of my range bc this flop hits most of it....we will generally lose money on this board and i would prefer to only lose a little...i think folding flop is a good way to exploit a min raise...we r not comitted to marginal boards

I just read the entire Event 2 summary on WSOP and there was a lot of ck/ck OTT when both players were competent. Your read on V and his read on you def. influence your flop decision.

Re: Wsop event 2 hand -- all my options seem to suck

hand is interesting bc it seems like ck call flop ck fold turn is correct but v should bet all tur
s that dont give the k a straight 100% of the time and chk back all aces and nines, making tens our only good value card....therefore ck call flop fold turn ui is the worst play

Re: Wsop event 2 hand -- all my options seem to suck

so rly our best plays r cc flop cr all turns, cr flop, or fold flop...the bdfd means we can cr turns w/ greater equity, so busto is right, we at least need the bdfd to call so we can ck rs turns that give us the fd

Todd if we are not thrilled to play a flop oop ... can we make this the top of our 3b bluff range ???

Re: Wsop event 2 hand -- all my options seem to suck

I def like 3b bluffing > calling here, I definitely do that post antes.
Pre antes I just don't care enough to defend a weak hand that does NOT flop well and even on a great flop for us like on OP we only have 30-40% equity against the range we can get it in against.
If a great flop can't give us better than 50% then what good is the hand?

The only flops we really like have lots of tens on them so we can get it in against weaker tens. That doesn't happen as often as you might think....
