Venetian 1k bvb

So.. villain was just moved to the tbl an hour ago and has been fairly quiet/solid other than 3betting my btn open to 2.5x from sb and cbetting small on 752r and me folding. He's younger and could very well be an online guy but I'm not sure. I've been very active opening in lp since he's been at the tbl and last orbit it folded to my sb and I raised and he folded.

It's 400/800 75a.. hour long levels.. and about 5mins left in this level.. 2hrs to go until we break for day 2

I have ~50k
Villain has ~42k

Folds to me in sb again, I have K7 and I raise to 2k (same size as last orbit) this time he flats and the flop comes

789 (4675)

I check/call 2100 pretty quickly

789K (8875)

I check and he bets 5700 after thinking for a bit... I decide to raise/call not totally loving it but thinking he can get in worse bvb considering my image in his eyes and how wet the board is.. so I raise to 13.5k and he jams. He didn't take too long before jamming

Any thoughts on the hand are appreciated. Mostly curious about my decision to raise/call turn though.

Re: Venetian 1k bvb

I play turn exactly the same and for the exact reasons you said + so many combo draws he can have Kxdd, T9, etc, etc.

Re: Venetian 1k bvb

Interesting spot... your line is obviously pretty high variance (and you had a good stack and you say it's a soft field), but I think it is probably the most +ev option.

This seems like a pretty weird spot to bluff-jam, so I think it's really unlikely villain has air. I kind of doubt he would jam something like 87/97/98 here after you check-raise turn (which looks really strong), but it's possible. We can give his range some hands like Ad10d/Qd10d/Ad6d/6d4d,109,86 etc. ... and maybe he also jams some naked flush and straight draws? So that leaves him with a mix of value hands (that crush us) and draws (that we are ahead of, but which are live). I guess raise/call makes sense, based on that analysis... since there are so many more combos of draws than straights/sets/better two pair.

One concern, though, is that there are players who simply do not have draws in there ranges in these spots... I've been in spots like this with guys who seemed competent over a few orbits, and were in some ways, but who were still straightforward and way too tournament-life oriented... I've taken lines like you did here, got snapped off by a straight or whatever, said something about thinking the guy showed up with draws really often, and had him say, "Are you crazy? That was my whole tournament! I'm never jamming a draw there!" Based on live player typing and reads, I would slow down IF I had reason to think I was playing that sort of villain. Usually, though, I think raise/call is fine here.

I suppose maybe we do if it's a 54 card deck...

Anyways std get in spot. He can have plenty of draws, 2 pair and even occasionally one pair.
