First post so bare with me, I feel as though i could have folded this what do you think.

Ok so this was my third hand after late registering so i had no info on anybody.

New table full of late registrants so we're all around 85x BB's deep.

UTG i get dealt QQ and i raise 2.5xBB
Folded around to the cut off who 3 bets 11x BB
folded back to me and i 4 bet for 27x BB
He tanks and shoves, i tanked and called and he flipped KK and won the hand.

Now he's an unknown but i feel as though after my 4 bet and he 5 bet shoves his range his sometimes JJ, AK, AA or KK and if hes very LAG maybe any 2 trying to 5 bet bluff but that's highly unlikely and i have no info.

After going over the hand in my head i probably should have folded, what do you guys think?

Your decision is between folding and calling the 3bet, 4betting makes your hand a bad bluff. He should never have JJ with the 3bet and these positions, it's a hand better than QQ or a bluff normally. With 11x I'd tend to say he has AK/KK mostly.

I don't normally play that deep so I wouldn't know much.

All I know is that you don't put in 1/3 of your stack for "information" to fold later. If you're 4betting to 27BB with 85BB eff, you're looking to get it in.. unless your opponent flats and the flop comes AKJ or something terrible.

I would call the 3bet but we re not that deep to setmine vs such a big 3bet.
Putting more than the 11BB he is asking you pre is a massive overplay.

I think folding and making a really good note on Villian makes a lot of sense. It's going to be really hard for us to control the pot on low/favorable boards and/or put our chips in confidently. As nitty as it seems I think we fold this spot having gathered some info on villian for next time we confront him. These are the kinds of spots that have regs/good players scratching their heads and putting opponent on medium pp and AK only to find out they are holding AA/KK and their big 3bet meant a lot of strength. Toss it in the muck.
