Shoving range EPT main Barcelona 24bb Shoving range EPT main Barcelona 24bb

Day 2 of the EPT main Barcelona

Blinds 500/1k ante 100
9 handed

It's the second hand of the day. We are on the button with 24bb and the cutoff opens to 2300.

Since its a new day and the seat info was already avalaible I've looked up every player. The cutoff is Xixiang Luo, unknown to me, but he has about 700k$ in live winnings and he is wearing a patch of some asian poker site.

He is starting the hand with 62k, the SB has 60k and the bb 40k, both unknown players to me.

With this given information, what range do we shove here?

Thanks for any constructed input

Something like. 22-JJ, A2ss-A9ss. ATo-AKo. ATs. Probably flatting the rest of my range that continues here. But this might be bad.

every pair, ATo+ KJo+ KJs, and almost every suited ace seems about right

could induce top jj+ if you want

the above ranges appear to be too wide

Think most Macau regs open too wide in these spots. Not sure if they still do so in a EPT tho. Like if they see a tighter player in the BB the Macau regs would open like 70% or sth. So info of BB is sort of relevant. I don mind shoving A9o A8o KTo QJo vs Macau regs, not sure if he's as wide as typical Macau regs tho

So what hands would you first exclude from those given ranges?

And if you guys have to make a educates guess, how wide do you think he will be opening here and what hands is he calling my shove with? If we can make a decent guess the math shouldn't be that hard.

why have a shoving range here
08-26-2016 , 05:02 PM
Shoving range is def needed because of antes.

But with 24bb and it being the first hand I assume 1. He has no info on table or player rev fences 2. Same applies to you.

Basically you're playing in a vacuum with very limited info. I'd wait to get more info and probably shove 88+ AQ+ That might be too right, but that's what I prefer. Don't think there's a 100% right answer here

I don't mind 3B/F 3B/C or flatting with some part of my range

but I think its fairly standard to have a shove range with 24bb BTN vs CO and 10% ante, but I'm open for discussion. that's why I post this situation.
