you've got 250k in the account and people getting nailed playing in the US, what's so valuable about connecting to your canadian computer that you'd risk this sum of money? why not just play on a laptop or find a way to get a desktop down to mexico or wherever you are?

if you cant at least start with an answer to that, then you deserve to get trolled. its not like you're providing some big shoutout to the rest of 2p2 on Stars' business ethics.... its not exactly a shocker that someone caught using an RDP gets their account nailed. no sane poker player is using a RDP for legit reasons as far as i can tell, so please enlighten us with the legit reason you'd need to use it.

Why should anyone feel empathy for him here? So far he's provided zero evidence to support his claims that he's done nothing wrong, no screenshots of the emails Stars has been sending him to confirm their stance on the issue, nothing to suggest there's anything shady happening here. Most of his posts on the matter consist of hyperbole-laden rants and/or him berating those who question him or suggest he isn't a victim. Jake can absolve himself of wrongdoing by contacting his remote service provider and obtaining the list of IP addresses he's used to connect to their host computers.

Why wouldn't you expect Stars to do it? Section 5.9 of the TOS explicitly states that they can and will do just that.

I don't think the old stars pre-Amaya would have taken the same stance.
Stars changed to the zero tolerance policy for US players sometime in 2014 but it's unclear if it was prior to Amaya's acquisition of the company. Before that they'd confiscate the profit a player made while he was assumed to be violating the TOS unless it was obvious that the player's intent was malign.

Some serious errors in judgement by OP. First of all, if you are going to play on Stars from the US, you shouldn't have money in your account that it is too big a deal if it gets confiscated.

Then you post here and make statements like you could have used a remote desktop for some other reason, but don't say you did or why you did. You don't even deny playing from the US.

I would consult a lawyer, but not sure that will be of a lot of help. Then keep winning and in the future don't try shady stuff like this and be more careful with you money.

unreal how ****ing stupid you are
Making a point that Pokerstars shouldn't be able to assume guilt w/o proof.. Same thing as saying there's no evidence on Pokerstars behalf that I played when in the US, only suspicion. Can't begin to imagine the specimen of human you are.

except they don't need proof of your "guilt", which is a silly word to use in a non-criminal matter like it is here. they'd just need to show on a balance of probabilities that your actions amount to having breached the TOS if it ever went to court. quit wasting people's time here, consult a lawyer based in the IOM, put out your evidence that despite using remote desktops you weren't actually in the US, honest, come up with a $ figure you'd be happy to settle with, wait and see if stars settle. if they do, fine, if not, take them to court and walk away with $3.50 after costs if you win and -$lots if you don't

Hear, hear!! well said.

Just visit/write/call a bunch off no-cure no pay lawyers and you got a pretty good idea if you got any chance of getting your/or part of your money back.

Instead of coming here a let yourself be ridiculed, been called a liar by people like well me and others and getting little well meant advice that usually not going to help you much imo, just saying.

And by making these 2 topics you have not helped yourself in any lawsuit, in the contrary you have helped pokerstars, so i would mention these 2 topics to any lawyer if you ever decide to go to court.

Why do you think they don't have proof? Why do they have to show you everything they've done to find proof? Does playing in live tournaments in the US while playing on Stars count as proof in your opinion?

On February 14th Jake bagged chips in day 1a of WSOPc in Florida: http://www.wsop.com/pdfs/reports/132...ip%20Count.pdf

On February 15th he made the final table of a $109fo on Stars:

He busted the WSOPc event on Sunday the 16th: http://www.wsop.com/tournaments/upda...th-place-8508/

That same evening he played a 109 2x turbo on Stars as shown in the screenshot above.

Outstanding detective work!

Isn't it ironic that so many good poker players are such terrible liars?
