Villain is a solid player, raising about 25% of the time. Most of his raises are from UTG and UTG+1. His fold to 3bet is 33% over 52 hands. He had min raised and snap-folded from the BTN when I was SB and shoved (also with A8o). Table (and this tournament as a whole) is generally tight. I've been below average throughout and been riding the red zone, and deep red zone for the majority of my late registration. I was able to get the folds I wanted by shoving a red zone stack from the CO or better. Unlike the Turbos, people don't play push-and-pray, even when the stack sizes dictate.
I feel like folding this I could have lasted longer and picked a better spot to double up / build up uncontested.
What range do we need here if we're strictly playing repush/fold against a player in that seat.
I think u can shove A8suited fold A8o but there are circumstances where I'll shove A8o but I'll need a strong read he's opening super wide in this spot don't know much about the villain but on paper it actually looks like a good spot for him to open wide now if u know he's aware this is a good spot to open really wide then I'd consider ripping it in but I'll need a lot more info if I'm gonna rip in a marginal hand like this for my tournament life so based on the info u giving me I just fold there's better ways to chip up
The main reason(s) I shipped is that my M was 6.0 and my stack rank was just 10th. So doing absolutely nothing for a few orbits guarantees me a measly $140 and puts me way below average. Like, forced to make -EV decision later to protect against the blinds kind, before even making the final table.
