Day 2 of $1100 main event in local tournament series.
39 players remain of 238 entrants. 25 make the money.
I have 35 bbs, average is 38. Event is one hour levels and is a really deep structure. I've been actively opening when folded to me. I've lost most hands since the last break so may have a recent losing image.
Villian in hand I played with a bit on day one and I view him as decent, and pretty aggressive. I've seen him turn pairs into bluffs on river. Also in a previous pot we played he b/3b turn as a bluff or a semibluff and followed through on river. He's 3b me maybe 3-4 times total and there isnt any 4b dynamic. Not really sure on his preflop tendencies. He covers me by about 15 bbs. Not a ton of competition outside of him at current table, pretty soft.
Folds to me in CO I open 2bbs with ATdd. Folds to his SB he 3b's to 4.4bbs. Folds back to me... Thoughts?
Jesus christ, this would be such a bad 4-b without specific reads. Why would you want to turn a hand that plays well into a bluff vs a range you're probably ahead of?
I would always call this and hope to hit, be careful though if you hit an A and hes out kicking you. keep it small. You are close to the money. What happened?

whats your play on dry flop textures? You describe a villan who is going to be barreling and you will Prob take a lot of heat on a high boards. I think Id peel here but a fold can't be that bad.
