I will be playing in the main event this year (Day 1C) and am curious if there is any ballpark number of entrants this year? I realize there could still be more added via satellites or late registrants (if they do that) but wondered if we were still in the 7000 ballpark or if it's a low or high year. Any idea?

attendance is down roughly 3% to ~9% depending on how it's calculated.

There were a few new or different structures and 2011 is not identical to 2012. One calculation I saw involved the first 32 events, (if i recall..) That was down 3%.
The 9% was comparing 22 specific events to last year's identical events..

Anyway, it's gonna be close.. I'd guess maybe a couple hundred less than last year.. But then again, maybe all that one-drop money and wagering being sucked out of people's pockets will mean more won't play.
