Im not gonna speak for the biggest troll on 2p2 but if van hoof tanks for 5 mins before shipping, it indicates that he really didnt have much of a reason to 3b or a plan for what happens after, and its pretty bad to just click buttons against bosses deep in the main

I think in the main with icm at work dan should really just ship it. Hand might look bad, but if dan 4/f A5o then jorryt's a genius.

I don't understand why Dan 4bet it to $1.8M and didn't just move all-in. If he is prepared to call an all-in 5bet, why not just move all-in first and fold out most races like 44. Van Hoof surely would've folded 44 to an all-in 4bet.

I understand that if Dan 4bets all-in he is only getting called by better hands (AA, KK) or perhaps a few that are races or chops(maybe QQ and AK). Whereas if Dan 4bets to 1.8M he might induce a shove from all kinds of hands, but at that point in the tournament, do you really want to call off with AK into a race? I like Dan's play much better if he had been holding AA or KK, but not AK.

Well seems like you're assuming that all hands Dan would be inducing with the 4-bet would be racing against AK; perhaps he was looking to induce worst than a pair.

It would be great if Dan Smith found this thread and contributed some of his own thoughts about the hand. What he thought/felt during the hand, and how he reflects/feels about it now. Surely someone in this thread knows how to ping him a link to this thread?
