Wouldn't it be better to check bet the turn than to hero call the villain? You call his 5K turn bet and then there is 21K in the river and you have 15K left. There are better spots than to hero call the villain for your tournament life. Your hand looks extremely weak after having checked twice.
There are so few hands that you are ahead of. yeah sure, JT/JQ/AT, but don't you think that the villain will sometimes take another free card? You might be calling his bluff and he ends up beating you with 22. Aside from a K or A, there are no good river cards for you.
I am fine with your flat call preflop. Lets not focus on this part of the hand.
