What do you make of villians play? I shoved because I thought he was calling AA minimum.

Here is the nash if anyone is interested.

http://www.holdemresources.net/h/web...01089&s7=31572

I know nash is not entirely viable because of moving/increasing blinds or whatever.

What I find really interesting is that the BB is supposed to overcall only with aces It seems to me like if btn is shoving wide, and SB calls with a big equity advantage, a large amout of the time the bubble will not burst, and the BB would have given up his best chance for a huge chip up with KK/QQ. Thoughts?

edit: I'm stupid. The nash assumes the SB is a good player and is calling with only aces, so obviously you can only overcall aces or your lighting money on fire. derp

EDIT: And thoughts on this riversize vs shove?

I like more on each street, river is a fold v most. Games will suck when calling there is standard
    02-12-2013 , 10:00 AM
a bit more each st and just shove river vs random. even if i got to river like that i'd shove for 85% or w/e it is
as played yea gross but u can only call if u think he is bluffing or value shoving worse remotely often enough, my guess is a random is not
    02-15-2013 , 09:05 PM
whats wrong with sizings ? unless BB is a total drooler, sizings are just fine

disagree on shoving river >>>betting 1/2 as played unless you have a specific reason to; after all this is the Sun500 not the 5r

Last edited by aseHigh; 02-15-2013 at 09:06 PM. Reason: shove vs station regs/bad regs and/or w a specific dynamic/img

24 left in the Bigger 109.. MP3 is a random to me but has been very active preflop opening and 3betting other players at the table. Only pot I've played vs. him so far: I defend BB and c/r 843ss and he folds. This is one orbit later. BTN has moved to the table this orbit. He is also a random and hasn't played a pot yet. SB is a random but hasn't done much out of line. Not overly-agro either. Don't think I have a spewy or over-aggro image to the table but I have been playing aggressively. This table is really soft, but at the other two tables there are some very good regs left. I have an above average stack at the time and the current chip leader is around 850k.

        I would call.
He is prob not going to call a shove with a worse hand, wont fold a better hand and he is not going to bluff big pot/oop/no sidepot postflop too often
        SB range is prob 66-TT(AA?)/AJ-AQ
        02-20-2013 , 03:44 PM
        what about mp3
        02-20-2013 , 03:52 PM
he's probably shoving QQ/AK so we can fold to his shove
i think he is going to call all of his pocket pairs and suited connectors/suited broadways so if sb checks on low boards we can easily shove flop or bet small/shove turn on many boards or check and try to get this to showdown. Note this is going to be a pot without any side pots, so he shouldnt bluff w/ air this pot if he has a brain
        02-20-2013 , 05:52 PM
Jam with reads on SB, if he's not bad then it becomes a close fold

Jammer is good reg, caller is a fish. I'd expect him to play fairly straightforward in the sidepot, although there's always the random betting factor what makes this so close
