How polarized is Shannon Shorr here?

This is from the 300r 6-max.

Villain is BluffForRent, who I believe is Shannon Shorr? We haven't played together much of late, though he may remember me from UB 10/20 like two years ago- my screenname is the same. I am new to the table but have been very active. I 3-bet him both times he raised my BB, including the hand prior to this one, and he folded both times. I know a lot of people will want to 3-bet here, but I felt that would actually look too strong given my recent history of 3-betting him.

River sucks because I almost never have a 3. That could mean that he's shoving more than just straights for value, in which case I don't want to call with TT. If his range is straights and bluffs, though, I think this is close?

Re: How polarized is Shannon Shorr here?

IDK if you even need to address whether he's shoving a set for value because he rarely if ever has one (66 seems like the only possibility). I can't imagine he would shove 2 pair here. It doesn't seem like there are many straights in his range either, but nevertheless I think he has it here most of the time. Also there aren't many combos that he gets to the river with that he could/would want to turn into a bluff.

Agreed, though I was thinking maybe like AQ or something that checked flop for pot control, called turn for combination of showdown and draw value, then turned into a bluff on river when I bet again and he realizes A-high no good. Or similarly a smaller pair that was trying to showdown cheaply but now realizes it's beat.

I prefer c/c on this river.

As played, there are not many str8s in his plausible range....3xdd and 87dd? I mean, this sucks, but I might hero call. Seems like he has to have it, but there are so few "its"....

I think there are enough hands in your preflop range that missed this board (e.g., broadway combos) that most people will be content to call with their bluffcatchers rather than risk their stack because there's a hole at the top of your range.

Honestly, man!

Shannon is capable of having any two here. His range is very poloarized and I don't like this spot vs him. His line is either a complete bluff or the near nuts 50%. Fold

Yeah I think a value bet on the river is pretty optimistic unless you think he's going to call you off with AJ something. I probably hero-call/grumble when I get shown 33/66.

Why are you betting the river? Are you value betting or bluffing?

lol, he tells you its a value bet and you then ask if he thinks shannon is calling the river with worse. BRILLIANT!

Re: How polarized is Shannon Shorr here?

I don't like the river bet, just check/call.

Fold as played, people just don't bluff here enough to call. Who knows, maybe Shannon does, but I doubt it, it looks like you could easily have a set. Betting might be better if he'd realize you never have a 3 and make a ton sick river bluff shoves with QJss or whatever.

People bluff even less with showdown value here (shannon has showdown value like over 90% of the time)
