That's one of the reasons that post tone matters. Madlee and lolposting don't seem to appreciate that point )or care about it if they do), but it seems to me that politesse doesn't have to mean you're any less honest analytically.

There is usually no tone, it's just internet, people read and see stuff that is not there, almost looking for a reason to get offended. If you get offended by some stranger's "tone" in some forum post, you should spend more time away from world wide web I guess.

When weaker players come here for free advices they should take what they get and be happy to endure some trolling for bad play

On the one hand you claim there is no tone, and on the other you say that weaker players should be happy to endure trolling. Do you see the material inconsistency in those two positions?

I'm a recreational player. But in the rest of my life, I'm not a gratuitous prick to people who know much less than I do in my area of expertise.

I'm not offended, BTW -- it's a free country here in USA#1 -- but if everyone behaved as you do, this forum would suck for everyone. It's a little like tanking in live MTTs.

You are obviously a sad human. I know your type, you came 32nd in the WSOP main and has some 7th finish in the milly and now think you are the biggest fucing baller in the world. Obviously you are in dire shape right now and despite what you think you have acomplished, you are a has been so please uninstall your web browser and go back to your local 2/5 game.

Chan,

I don't like his style either, but (respectfully) getting in to an insult contest isn't likely to help matters. Look past the crap to the content of his posts, if you can.

I couldn't agree more with this post.
The internet is indeed a weird place but not everywhere.I am active on other forums where people ask and get advice and get in discussions in a friendly way unsurprisingly this seems to be way more productive then MTT HS.New posters could refrain to post hands thinking they would get flamed or laughed at.Some older posters are not posting anymore for the same or other reasons. That's a huge loss for this forum.

As Howard i am an expert in another field then poker but this "I know it all and the rest don't" attitude is anti-productive for both party's.

@lol2016 Not sure why this forum is a place for trolling?I think anybody that take time to read or post on here is at least serious about poker and just like you love the game of poker.

@Mad1lee Make more posts like in the A10 thread, you could have said something different but instead you toke your time to explain and i enjoyed it.

Peace

After comments like this and his general tone all discussion with this dude should stop imo.
His poker abilities are irrelevant from this point on...its just not wise to communicate with him until he cleans his **** up.
Too bad he derails threads with his shenanigans.

I think I'd check this flop. on Ah6h5x my protection check backs would be the hands that aren't as vulnerable to coordinated turns (AxYh, 5hYh, A7, A4, maybe A8 as well). People (correctly) think about protecting on these textures but use incorrect reasoning. A7 is exactly the type of hand you want to protect with though. Ax7h even moreso.

As far as river goes, if villain actually had J8cc I'm not quite sure why this is a thread, he's obviously c/r too wide (even if 5x=5c) and your hand is too strong to fold vs a guy with a lot of random low equity bluffs.

Great throrough answer Geoff, thank you.

This should be a check back on the flop and turn vs described villlain since there are a lot of bad run outs for us and we're then left in a difficult spot either way. If we delay cb turn, we can get xr since we're capped and face tough river decisions as well. As played it's an easy fold on the river. Flushes got there, two pairs made boats and we can easily have flushes and boats ourselves.

But I assure you, you are not going to beat NL50z cash with your skill and understanding. Playing in 5k live event does not make you superior in terms of poker wisdom.

If you want to put your money where your mouth is, we can make a bet for NLHE100z and see where you at.
Gonna be a long grind to pay off your make up at 100nl

In a perfect world everyone would just get along...and Rodney King would never have had to ask "why" (can't we just all get along?)

Imo trolling is an essential element in any online forum. Trolls add humor and regulate the forum by unofficially sanctioning redic posts and uninformed replies.

Therefore, I agree with lolposting that enduring trolls is just the cost of doing business for less experienced posters. Poker is not an easy game and all of the hypersensitive/thin-skinned guys and gals should lighten up, enjoy the free advice and stop believing that you are entitled to anything more.

Imo it's not trolls that keep good posters away. It's the 'JJ in HJ vs a UTG open and MP call 15bbs' threads. The forums shouldn't serve as a "free clinic" for noobs to drop in and get treatment for all their leaks. If u ask a really basic question and get 2 trolls, 3 lame replies and 1 good reply, how have you not won?

"Why can't we just all get along?"...
