Diamond Borgata $3500 ME | Top two v KJulius

Early on day 1 of Borgata ME. Only 1 guy at the table is over 30.

Reads:
Villain 1: young guy, Opened about 30-40% of hands in the last hour from early position. However, plays pretty straightforward post flop
KJulius: Been pretty tight so far. Seems more focused on finding a masseuse.
Hero/me: Tight/nitty so far. No hands. Not showed down any bad hands either. Pretty much won the blinds the 4-5 times I raised so far.

The Hand: Level 3 75/150
Villain 1 (15K) opens for 400 from UTG+1, KJulius (~30K) flats from HJ, I (~30K) look down at AQ and 3-bet to 1500 (yea, I know, more on this below). Villain 1 thinks for a bit and calls. Kyle calls pretty quickly behind.

Flop (4725): AQ9
Villain 1 checks, Kyle checks, I bet 2600, Villain 1 folds, Kyle thinks for like 5 seconds and calls pretty quickly.
Turn (~10K): 3
Kyle checks instantly, I check back.
River (~10K) 2
Kyle thinks for like 5seconds and then bets 6125. I ??

My thoughts:
Pre: I almost never 3-bet pre w this hand in this spot. But given that villain 1 was opening so many hands pre and my general image, I thought this might be good value as he is gonna either fold pre or check/fold the flop a lot.

Flop: Seemed std to me. Would like feedback tho.

Turn: His insta check led me to think, it was a WA/WB situation. My hand looks so much like AK that he folds all worse and calls/raises all better. so didnt think any point in betting. Also if I check the turn, may be it opens up my range a bit and he might bluff the river?

River: ??

Assuming you called the river I think you played this hand well on all streets though betting the turn is okay as well.

Re: Borgata $3500 ME | Top two v KJulius

pre is standard/good.
betting the flop seems mandatory.
when i check turn my intention is to check/call river, even tho his sizing looks like a value bet i wouldnt really be checking turn to check/fold river on a complete blank. betting turn cant be horrible in vacuum also. but i think i prefer the check turn, call river line!

I usually bet turn but with your image a check is probably best. River is an annoying spot, doubt he has worse for value and his sizing looks pretty value-y, only TJ really missed. Probably still call because game theory **** is going on but don't be thrilled about it

so villain has 99? what diamonds can he have that flat oop pre? KJd, JTd, T9d are the only maybes. would be a weirdly played QQ or AA and we have blockers.

no way u can check turn if you are going to fold this river--and since you checked its a must-call. Thread ideally should be about the merits of checking the turn vs. betting. And whether it's a b/f if you do bet turn

Is he not allowed to have AJs here some of the time for value?

I bet turn often here. When u get raised on the turn you can fold more easily than when he dinks river after you have check behind turn.

As played call now.

56s? 67s? 78s? 89s? 8Ts? etc. 200bb deep and he's closing the action, he's calling with anything he flatted with originally, and his flatting range is (potentially) very wide against a spewtard that's opening every hand.

With that said I'm still not folding.

I agree with previous comments that I'd prefer a turn bet, probably around 5000. In part I want to see if he has a diamond in his hand, insta call tells me definitely.

I'm calling the river bet, sigh, for sure. Your WA/WB assessment is spot on, he could easily have a middle pair other than 99, 99, A-K. As described I'd expect to see A-with the K of diamonds

I'd be super shocked if he flipped over QQ or AA as played.
