Hey

Aussie Mill Main Event, Hero just moved to the table (early 20s) Villain early 20s, no reads. Have probably never played with villain before.

7 handed 150/300/25 v 650 utg me 1700 A6dd utg+2
flop 235ss check 2100 call
turn Js check 4500 call
call river 7x check allin 21 eff (into 17) Had him covered by about 30k

Would probably not take that line in a smaller sideevent but it was a 10k and i was assuming v would not play very 10k at all and would therefore fold a lot of his one pair spade hands like TsT etc

I dont like to bluff 100bb in an uncapped range but thought it was good at that moment. Now im not sure

What do you think?

I don't hate it, don't love it either

You need to be really confident about your live game tho (make sure you don't have too much tells etc)

Fold pre!

Why 3bet Ad6d against UTG raiser when you just moved to a new table? Why not wait a couple of orbits and get some info before you start 3 betting light? You have more than enough BB to get accustomed to the table...

unnecessary (won't work enough of the time because of those 2 magical words you mentioned in OP - "uncapped range")

also , don't call pre

there are easier ways to pick up chips in the AMME. the sat winners hero call and overvalue constantly. value bet value bet.

as for the story you're telling here, it's not bad. the river jam is +EV against a AK, AQ, mid pp V range that will typically sigh fold to the 3rd barrel. the advantage of that runout is that (except for JJ and Axss) it's largely made up of one pair hands and worse.

but in another sense the spade runout isn't good for you either. you can get to the river with a reasonably wide range. he may hero mid pairs as a result. but for sure it's less likely when his entire mtt is on the line.

i'd say V calling range is flushes, JJ+ and his folding range is everything else. there's more combos of other stuff tho, so the river jam once you get there is mandatory.

the biggest issue I have with the hand is that you've just moved to the table and haven't had a chance to develop a tight, solid image. you may look like a young turk wanting to be table captain - regardless of whether the read is justified, you're going to get looked up more often.

fold pre and avoid these spots. If we're 3bettong a6s were 3bettingn wayyyyyu too wide.

Villain will have a lot of v good bluffcatchers on the river. Kk, possibly aa, possibly all sets.

If you're going to do this size turn a little different to make more of a natural jam.

What's the weakest hand that you would shove for value otr vs. Villain's line?

Uhm... Dont like it. Can't see how V will fold Qs.. And the worst spade he will have is like the 8s... Let alone the times he will have the nut to snap and the other few times he will hero with Ts, this just becomes very spewey
