8r 3x turbo satelite - paging Billy Bibbit

Everyone but Strungout and Asehigh are randoms to me and I assume they are going to play pretty weak/incorrect satelite strategy. Ended up folding (always what I do if I am unsure in a satelite) but unsure if this is a call or not. Also worth noting that the blinds are going to go up on my button

I'm calling AA only with this weird payout structure where the 8th-7th bubble is almost as significant as 6th-5th. Your equity is >$800 if you fold, and you don't have good enough equity vs ATC unless you have AA.

Obviously snap if it weren't for the mini-bubble.

Nash says SB should shove 100% and BB should call KK+

AA is a +$32 call, KK is a +$7 call, QQ is a -$16 call.

Edit: KK is about breakeven if SB is only shoving 80%.

What tourney buy in do the top 5 get into? I can't see how this is an AA only spot in a satellite where we're nowhere close to being able to coast into the top 5.. Even the shortstacks have a stack where it's going to be incorrect for anyone to look them up light(besides the big stack). Having randoms that don't understand satellite strategy seems like it could even hurt you since you'll have to shove light at some point and they may you call you wider than they should.

Re: 8r 3x turbo satelite - paging Billy Bibbit

I like this method of posting a HH! It looks like a fold and a call with KK+ given that the difference between 6-7th and 1st-5th isn't as massive as it often is in a satellite, so finishing 8th is pretty disastrous.

Re: 8r 3x turbo satelite - paging Billy Bibbit

calling with KK would be a mistake since he won't be shoving any2 and 0 people on this table will play even close to correctly.

Last edited by parkert; 08-05-2012 at 04:51 PM. Reason: not massive, but if were be vs 80% its definitely -ev

im pretty confident this is a fold. your equity has to be way bigger by folding given your stack size.

Fold = $822.65
Lose = $46.00
Double = $980.89
83.72% equity needed to call, KK = 82.40% vs ATC.

This too, don't call off a big stack on a small edge vs mostly clueless opponents.

Your numbers are right, put it in wrong with our dead BB as part of stack.
