Because if we check the turn then queens won't fold if we bet the river? and a queen can bet if we check? Whereas if we lead turn queens *should* be folding and we cap our range pretty well at exactly AK/AJ since we probably check 2p and sets on this dry of a board on the turn?

Or am I crazy?

Re: 5th hand of Big 109

i think we have to call because of the bet sizing throughout...we polarized his pf range with big bet, then kept him in with small bets...he never sees a flop with some of those hands ppl r saying got there...if we don't call the river every play prior to the river stinks

esp when you're readless on the villain so there's no reason to believe he's bluffing you here. If you've played decent amount of cash game (aka 100-150bb as opposed to 20-30bb mtt stack), you'd know AK is rarely good here.
yea actually ur right

shouldnt we be betting AK here to protect/balance our double barrel bluffs or are we assuming that chuck won't be getting too out of line postflop in a multiway pot pre where he squeezed? maybe we are both crazy. never gonna survive unless we get a little bit crazy.

i guess with no reads/history i shouldnt be thinking that villain is going to try to look chuck up with 77-TT on the turn so maybe checking is best

showurexit please change your avatar. i sat down for a nice 2p2 strat session and now im quitting to fap. thanks.

Re: 5th hand of Big 109

Don't make non max ev lines vs unknowns just to be balanced, also who cares if we have no calling range, especially in this spot where it's not like he will exploit us with his mass floats gutshots etc

what actually went down otr?? ive been going back and forth about this hand alot
like
there was a post where getting in this many bbs w this hand isnt usually good, and i agree w that to some extent..... but then depending on table conditions, metagame stuffetc getting stacks in on this board w this action can be lolgood
think this hand is more interesting than ppl think
like can have 2p alot here as well as sets but he can also have worse that he will call down with
id be wondering what some good players think about this....how close is it really?

Re: 5th hand of Big 109

I don't like turn sizing, I would go really small twice. A big bet is scary there for more sane players and even for some fishy. 2 small bets gets paid off always from weak guys with Ax/Qx occasional osed gone pair and more often from saner opponents.

River seems easy fold. Vs sane villain you're just crushed always Vs big noobs you might beat Qx bluff, AJ-A9 floatvalueshove thingy, but then you lose to all the draws a bunch of 2 pairs and it's hard for him to have mid pairs given turn sizing

i'd bet, check/decide, bet/call here all day readless. decent flop to float and we hold the nuts basically. hard to get alot more value from stuff we beat in a 3b pot

if i bet (vs stations, idiots, etc) turn i'd go bigger to set up a better river shove

as played no idea whats best. stupid spot. i think your turn bet sizing is the main problem here.

I folded and he showed me 33. I thought I was the only one who tries to pull that off.
