Hero just moved to a new table 20 years old, villain is somewhat LAG but not too crazy. played with him earlier in the tournament. The hand before this, villain raised a pot and took it down uncontested.

54 players remain, and 36 get payed, average stack is 130k. blinds are 1500, 3000, 400 antes. Hero has 50k Villain has about 150k.

Villain is utg +2, hero is mp with 7s7d
Villain raises to 6800, hero 3 bets to 15000, folds around and villain thinks for a while then calls Pot is 38100

Flop is 5A6 rainbow, villain checks Hero shoves the remaining 34600

Nothing worse is calling, nothing better is folding except for 88-KK.

I'm a micro player so take my thoughts for what it is, but i really don't understand your play here. If you think he's light, hence the 3bet, couldn't you just jam pre?

In this spot I like shoving pre to the utg +2 raise especially from a LAG player, you can pick up around 14k with the blinds antes and his open raise if he folds and thats a huge increase to ur stack. I think you are too short to 3 bet pre and play post flop especially with a hand like 77 when you are more likely to see flops you don't like. I'm surprised this guy even flatted your 3 bet with ur stack size.

Yes pokerbot, our hand is a bluff at this point with a few extra outs from bdfd,I also do think he has a few more hands in his range other than 88 - KK that would fold otf. I figured given a 3 bet is basically commuting us to the pot it may look stronger, and having position allows us to pot shove some flops as bluffs.

I think having position with your stack is irrelevant and makes no sense to 3bet,unless V is really bad and you have AA.
Just shove pre or fold.

Tough spot, but it's push shove fold time given relative stack sizes, and betting/ calling on any future streets is leading to showdown. You may get a weak Ace out, or some small pairs, but given his stack size - I hope he's put you on an A+.
Or you caught.

I don't mind the raise pre-flop too much; of course we can never fold to a re-raise from the villain but there are some cases where the betting is super-strong behind us, and we can get away.

Once we go to the flop, I think we are 100% committed. Our fold equity is minimal, surely, but even so we can't give up the chance to be first to bet.

So, simplest is to fold or shove pre-flop. As played, I would always shove the flop with no regrets.

Def not 3 betting 7's, shove that pre all day. almost every board is bad for 7 7. But i dont see myself folding on any flop that only has 1 over. As played get it in.
