500k Guarantee. Live Tourney. 15,000 starting stacks level is 50 ante 150 300 blinds. HERO has 12,000 Villain 1 has 9,800, Villain 2 has 25,000...

Villain 1 is a young good pro. Villain 2 is a 50 year old guy that has been playing tight and has shown down some monster hands.

Hero picks up AhQh UTG +1.
Villain 1 raises UTG to 750, Hero flats and folds to Villain 2 in the Sb who also flats. BB folds. flop comes 5h4h5d. Villain 2 checks Villain 1 Leads for 1250, Hero shoves for 11,250. Villain 2 flats, Villain 1 folds. Villain 2 shows Ac5c. turn brick, river brick.

How was the hand played?? All opinions are welcome. I have some friends telling me to 3 bet pre but I think flatting pre is ok. I think That they are just being results oriented.

you don't provide enough info on the "good young pro" to offer much of an answer - I wouldn't 3-b AQhh here by default unless I knew that V1 was too wide wrt being UTG.

Shoving the flop makes your hand somewhat face-up, but I cannot see folding, calling, or raising less.

nh,yl, gg sir. Just a cooler

I think you played the hand reasonably, but I will mention Doyle's classic piece of advice about never drawing to a flush on a paired board. Like Beachman said, not a typical 3bet spot. However, given V1's stack size, a 3-bet to 1800-2000 would put a lot of pressure on him to make a decision for all his chips, and generally elicit a fold from Ax suiteds below AT. Point is that your 3-bet would probably have taken down the pot PF, or at least narrowed ranges to where the 554 board is safer to shove on. I could see an argument for calling the flop bet; implied odds are great and any action by V2 leaves you with an easy response (fold to big raise, check/fold brick on the turn).

I would probably not 3bet pre because we basicly have to fold if villain jams. On the flop it is a tough decision between calling and raising. How tough is the field, and do you feel that a flip for all of your chips is profitable in this situation? Just calling seems quite dull aswell so I feel that shipping it in and taking the flip may be the best option in this case.

In worst case you are not drawing dead, lol.

It was tough for me to just call with my stack size

Probably better to call, then overcall if Sb shoves.

Our range is pretty much 88-JJ + Ax flush draws..
If V1 is competent I don't see him bet called worse draws, also by flatting we allow him to barrel on A, Q turns.
Think shove is w.e we have outs, but you'll almost never gain value from worse or the times you'll get paid off, also the times when we call and turn checks to us...
Calling just gives us more ways to get value from worse hands, where as when we shove we will normally get called and be flipping since we never ever ever ever have a 5.

Deff flatting pre unless you have dynamic where he will 4b shove wider, Also flatting my whole range here ( AA, KK, etc )

I don't like the 3b pre as a rule, hand plays really well postflop. U also want to keep weaker aces around

Not sure the shove turns ur hand face up, if opponents would expect u to play overpairs the same way it's abs fine imo. U can also raise smaller/call it off, or get the rest in ott when called.

In any case I raise here and commit to maximize my equity.

It's best to not post the results so people can give their honest opinion.

Flat pre seems fine in general, against a 33bb stack you may want to 3B to induce a 4b from worse if your reads on the young pro is that he'll stuff in worse here. The problem is that you both are EP and it's tough to have a dynamic where even the most aggressive guys decide it's a good idea to pile worse.

On the flop, raise or call seem ok. However I don't like raising all-in. I understand you are going for max fold equity, but you pretty much show your hand when you pile here. What value hands would you take this raise all in line with? What value hands are you trying to fold out? I'd consider raising to something like 3600 and call off.
