We're 5 handed and the other table had 6, blinds are 10k/20k.

i'm dealer with AKJ9 I have 600k chips, table average is approx 400k but true average is approx 800k (most chips on the other table).

Villain in this hand is Allen Ye, multiple bracelet winner and seems pretty good. He has approx 400k.

Folds to me and I raise to 58k, Ye calls from Big Blind.

Flop is 235

Ye bets 65k. Is this just a standard me folding? This flop doesn't seem like it's in anyone's calling range, if he had a monster he's likely checking since we're essentially 20BB deep and i'm sure want's me to cbet here. He's seen me check fold a couple before and I think he interprets me as weak, I bled down from 800k to 600k in chips over the last couple orbits on raise check folds. This hand in particular seems to stand out to me because he'd seen me do it before so he knew I was capable of the raise check fold, but I don't know what else i'm doing vs an outright bet here. Just giving him the pot right?

Happened a few times with him, I know he didn't have it EVERY time and it felt like I was getting outplayed. Hard to say with relative stacks so short. Guess that's why he took 3rd

+1, villain can have quite a wide range here but there is no real reason for you to get involved without a read he is weak

This isn't as true for button vs big blind, but typically in plo the big blind hits the low boards harder than any other position. They make a lead out range as you should be checking back near 100% on boards you can't hit. In 6max if utg opens AAxx and it comes 664 he might check back, for example. Vs button this doesn't happen as you have almost as much 64 and A4 as he does, but maybe he thought you were on the tighter side and your huge openraise size indicated mostly high cards/high pairs.

This is an easy fold, you have nothing except a J high backdoorflushdraw. You can call overpairs, hands like 65xx etc and balance it by slowplaying your 64/A4 etc. If you really think he's full of it you can float hands like overs with 2 backdoorflushdraws and backdoor straights etc, but here you can just fold.

Fold, and I personally prefer opening a little smaller unless he's basing his decision to defend (or not) too heavily on sizing.

Such is the nature of short stack PLO. Gotta fold.
