As the title says we are in the last level of the day of a 1.5k Main event, 20 minutes before the end of day

we have just over 15 BB in the BB and have 66.

Villiain has been at the table for about an hour and has been very active (I also knew him).

Action folds to him in the CO and he rips 13 BB

If we fold we make day 2 with 10 BB (blinds go up obv).

if you assign him an appropriate range, this is a call more often than not, right?

Why don't you start by saying what you assign his range?

Call 55+ (A8o A9s?) at a guess if he is as active as you say. What does making day 2 do? Nothing!

Assuming there are antes in play and our opponent is shoving based on push/fold charts for 13BB from the CO, 66 is about 53% against their likely range.

I'd be surprised if our opponent is shoving much less than the standard charts based on your read of the player, so to me this is a pretty clear call.

I guess he rips at least NASH

so {22+, A2+, K6s+, KT+, QT+, JT+, T9s, 89s}

Yes huge antes in play (1/6 of BB).

the 22-55 pretty much even out the 77-JJ (I assume he induces with QQ+)
given the absurd amount of overcards, and the occasional raggy Aces, we have a slight range advantage (but calling all in with 66 is never fun...)

It is a clear (sigh) call...

If he's shoving the proper ranges than you should be calling 25.5% of hands. 22+, A2s+, A3o+, K8s+, K10o+ Q10s+, QJo, J10s.

Villain should be shoving 32.7% of hands from the CO which = 22+, A2s+, A2o+, K8s+, K10+, Q8s+, Q10o+, J8s+, J10o, 107ss+, 97ss+, 86ss+, 76ss.

So this is a clear call.

It is easily cEV+, but IMO it is close because we should not be playing straight cEV for almost our whole stack.

He could be pushing wider than Nash, expecting tight calls, but we don't know for sure that an agro reg in a live MTT knows to push Nash or something like it. He may be minraising or something with JJ+ or something like that, which is more reason to call.

Easy call. Making day 2 is irrelevant
