Yo. I dont know many more about, sry.
Btw, the rake is taken, even if you just steal the blinds (wtf ?). And its waaaaaaay slower than parisian poker rooms (ACF, clichy, etc).

I'll ask soon some friends who often play at Nice casinos to tell you more.

re: Where to play poker in France ? (LIVE POKER)

Sorry, I speak very little French. I am spending time in both Paris and Nice (~4 nights each), and would like recommended poker rooms in both cities, for mid level NL hold em; ~1-2 up to ~5-5 blinds, intend to buy in w/ 500 euros or less. I have seen so many reviews and mixed comments so I would like advice... the 100 euro ACF fee seems high, but i will pay if the action is worth it for ~2 sessions. What do people suggest?

Merci/Thank you

the action in acf is definately worth it. there are some other clubs with 30€ entry fee, but you'll only find very weird drug dealers and pimps..... acf is the way to go. you'll find NL50 NL100 NL250 NL500 NL1000 O8(4-5)500 and O8-1000. always crowded, and many gamblers.

Has anyone played at cercle-clichy at montmartre? Just wondering what the room and action are like before heading out for a trip in September.

re: Where to play poker in France ? (LIVE POKER)

Whether or not you have to pay taxes on your poker income depends on numerous factors :

Is it your main source of income ?
Does the IRS inspector in charge of your case consider that Poker is a game of luck or skill ?

There is a thread there
http://www.clubpoker.net/forum-poker...es-t74273.html
Basically it used to be non taxable because considered pure luck but now things are less clear.

Anyway

There is a new law that will soob make it completely stupid to want to play poker online if you are French (like a huge overall rake and also you will only be able to play against other French)

http://fr.pokernews.com/news/2009/3/...legal-2010.htm

Bootleg games are going to thrive IMO untill they cancel this law or someone finds a way to work around it

"Inspecteur des impôts" is the official name.

The law was passed but not yet implemented it's likely to be a mess like always.
I suggest you go to the nearest French Embassy near you and ask to speak to an "attaché culturel".

Why do you want to come to France specifically ?

This page should help : http://fr.pokerworks.com/actualites-...2009-02-2.html

Try google translate and ask me if some parts don't make sense.

One point says that many French poker pros chose to move to Luxembourg Monaco or the UK because french taxes suck. In theory earnings from poker are not taxable if it is occasionnal but they are taxable if it's a regular source of income... because in some cases poker is luck (if you happen to win once in a while) and it becomes skill if you win on a regular basis. A little bit like de Broglies's duality.

re: Where to play poker in France ? (LIVE POKER)

am playing poker professionally for a year or two so yeah this system kinda sucks as far as i can understand.
living in france for 3 months now.
moved to france due to job of gf and stuff.
i am quite surprised there isnt like a group of pros who know exactly how much eprcent to pay.
are they all being silent about it?
cant imagine every situation is being looked at in a individual way by an irs inspector.

ty for posting so far
