hy
planing on going to ACF(Aviation Club de France Paris) at the end of the month and I heard there are some changes......so if there is anyone who has been there in 2008 pls if u are so kind to help me

1.Is it true that is now 100 euro membership tax?(so I pay 100 euro when I get there and I can play until the end of the year?)
2.Is it true that ACF is now a non smoking area?
3.What are the max buyins for 2/4? , 5/5? and 5/10?(dont care about minimum)
4.Are the games soft or not at these stakes?
5.The games are running non-stop or...?(NL holdem only)
6.Drinks are free?

I'm asking all this because what I hear from friends that have been there last year is one thing and what I read on the ACF official website is another thing.

1. Unless they changed their policy you don't need to be member to enter & play
2. Yes
3. No idea
4. Hopefully there are lot of gamblers and bad players here
5. It's open 24/24 but you may not find games in the morning.
6. No idea

Word came to me that you have to pay this 100€ to play. Beat.

1 - 100€ to be member for the year, and it give you the right to go 2 times to the excellent restaurant for free
3 - no maximum, it's no limit baby
5 - 2/2 and 2/4 tables are always open
6 - soft drink are free if you are at the table, just don't forget to tip 2€

2 - under 18 you are not allowed to put a toe in card room

3 - there are always 1 or 2 shark at table but other are giving money away

I have heard(and read on the ACF official website) that the rake is HUGE.
I'm asking the people that have been there(this year if possible)....can u still go there and make money playing poker with rake, food, drinks, hotel and other expenses?

There used to be the "cercle des pyrénées" in Toulouse but I think they closed.

I suggest you become a member of this excellent forum
http://www.limpers.com/

They'll know the nearest casino.

Hi all,

Tomorrow i'm leaving to Paris for the weekend with a couple of friends with the intension to play poker...of course...
We've been to the Aviation last october and didn't pay any fee. Does anyone know if we have to pay the €100 now or does our (free) "membership" still counts, since it's been less than a year we were in the club?

Thanks

I'll be going to Paris Sep 2-7th. I'm planning on playing at the Aviation Club. Thanks for all the info in this thread. I'll guess I'll have to pay the 100E to play.

Any 2+2ers play there on a regular basis? Would be cool to meet some of you.

The rake are huge because there is a bad beat jackpot.
You can still make money playing there because the level is terrible but I suggest you to don't tips (too much) if you want to make descent profit.

I sometimes play at the Aviation Club de France (ACF) and I had to pay the 100€ but maybe if you told them that you're just there for a few days, they can make an exception.

I heard that they did that before but that's not sure that they still do it because it's kind of risky for them.

lol if you never tip and try to "save" 100E here and there it s very "risky"for them indeed :P

Is the dress code enforced at the Aviation Club these days? (Sep 2008)

Yep

I've played at ACF twice now. The rake is just brutal. 5% uncapped at lower games, and 25E PER HOUR at 5/5. The games are good, but that rake is unreal. Some players are incredibly loud and obnoxious, maybe even worse than in Los Angeles.

Questions from someone who is living on Toulouse,
What is the dressing code for the casino?
If I dont have a car how do I get there?
I speak absolutely no french, will that be an issue?

ca va et toi ?
its ok
To my small knowledge there is no poker room in Monaco or Nice, you'll have to find private games if you want to play live.
rivierapokerclub.free.fr/ This is an amateur site which i presume organize private games.
