I just originally thought discussion was interesting so I'd chime in my personal experience/opinion.

I don't necessarily agree with Yugo. Although in a way I was just talking about general politeness than chivalry I'd say.

Don't agree with him and I think it was a positive influence and help to me becoming who I am today, however didnt find it insulting at all. Just don't agree.

I do prefer the straight out way. That's one thing I miss about Europe since being here is people beating around the bush and not open where as from my experience there people are just blunt and tell you what they think good or bad.

No hard feelings. Still down for a waffles/work out session when I'm in the cities (I'll even hold the door open for you )

No worries not agreeing with me. Obviously that's fine/great/standard/whatever, .

No, but, really, I'd like to read about lifting heavy-ass* weights again in here.

Fwiw I did bench 195x3x3 last night. I don't count that as actual heavy ass weight, but it is progress!

That a pr?

Any idea what 5rm is? If you can do 3x3 195 assuming its more than that? You might be just a bit past me!

My 5rm is going to be significantly less. I was able to get 195x3 for three sets but if I had gone all out on the first one I'd have been quite lucky to get 4. I definitely had no shot at 4 reps on my third set.

So, I'd say my 5rm is probably more like 185-187.5. I'd be very surprised if it was above 190. I did 190x4 last week for my last set, so maybe I could get 190x5 right now. Probably not but maybe next week.

195x3 technically is a PR although the main reason I failed it a couple weeks ago was simply due to changing technique and not being able to flare my elbows as much (which is what I was doing with my old technique when things got heavy).

Next week we'll see - I'm not sure if Cha will have me bump the weight up, stay at this, or move down a bit for more reps.

Lol. Shamrock with the best jopke ITT. Or the most "walking in having no idea what has just been transpiring" moment.

Either way, . One day I will be as strong as you shamrock. And one day I will also live back in Minneapolis. Hopefully both days come soon.

I don't want to derail the chivalry topic too much, but Simmons and Lowe did a podcast yesterday that was pretty good. Talked a bunch about the TWolves, specifically how they need to trade Love now because next year they wont have enough leverage, and noone wants a repeat of what happened with Dwight/Lakers where you trade for the superstar for 1 year and he walks.

Simmons argument is that if you make the trade for 1.5 years instead of 1 year, you have a full offseason to build team chemistry (on and off the court) and there is much bigger chance Love stays. Like usual, Lowe was diplomatic in that he never told Simmons he disagreed with this theory, although from what I can remember he never actually said he agreed either.

Of course Simmons had a bunch of trade options, that I am sure coincidentally had Love going to his favorite teams that Lowe pretty much all rejected and said "not enough". Lowe actually hinted he was making a column fully devoted to the dysfunction that is the TWolves, so when that comes out, I will let you guys all know.

2/19 log

Bench at Cha's

Bench 45x5x2, 75x5x4, 105x5, 135x3, 165x2

195x3x3

DB rows up to...95x7x2? I forget - whatever his heaviest DB is.
Facepulls
Tricep rope pulldowns

2/20 log

40 mins cardio on bike, 20 mins shooting

2/21 log

Didn't leave the house. Did 400 jumping jacks in ~15 minutes then 45 minutes of Just Dance. Calves felt tight afterwards.

2/22 log

DL 135x5, 185+50lbs band x 1 x 10

LBBS 45x5x2, 95x5x2, 135x5, 185x5, 225x3, 265x1

295x2x2 - this felt really difficult. I couldn't really figure out why.

225x5x5 - ok, so I even struggled with this but at the lower weight realized I think my calves/ankles were messed up from dancing and the jumping jacks. I never really pay much attention to them as they don't seem to limit squatting but I think them along with my adductors kept me from getting things to fire equally at the bottom of my squat. I was coming up with my left side higher than my right, having trouble sitting back fully, and kept wanting to GM.

Going to try for 295 next week.

2/23 log

Chins bw x 7 x 11

Bench 45x5x2, 75x7x3, 95x5, 115x3
145x5x4, 145x14. Last rep everything suddenly was loose and all over the place, still got it up. I think oxygen might have been the limiting factor though, but not by too much.

Standing cable rows 82.5x10x5
Face-pulls 32.5x15x3
BB curls 55x10x4

2/17/14-2/23/14 weekly fitbit

63.3k steps (up 2.5k)
19.2k cals (no change)
8hrs 15 min sleep (up 3min)
9 times avg awakened (up 1)

You wake up 9 times a night? Do you remember it? Is it apnea or are you just terrible at sleeping?

Cha - Changed to standing cable rows. I blame fakeBusto. Thanks for mentioning that, .

Monte - I usually get up once to go to the bathroom and can usually remember waking up another time during the night. Sometimes I go to the bathroom more than once. I dno, I don't often remember waking up more than 2-3 times in a night.

What's being recorded is the "times awakened" according to FitBit which includes rolling over, waving my hand around, when the wristband actually moves enough.

I believe it is fairly high - it is for sure higher than my wife. It is also higher than when we sleep separately. I doubt I have apnea. I think it's much more likely I have "neck****edupitis" where I'm "tossing and turning" b/c my body wants me to keep changing position.

Welcome to the olds. As your prostate continues to grow over the next 50 years welcome to getting up to go to the broom many more times.

Although Yugo is probably still in the honeymoon/trying to procreate stage, so he is probably engaging in activities that stimulate the prostate and make the urge to pee at night even stronger. Once he has a kid or two, settles down, and inevitably stops doing such activities on most nights, things should settle down a little, at least in the short term.

Going from banging your wife solely with a condom to getting your prostate milked multiple nights per week in an effort to produce a minislavian is quite the 180 for our boy. He'd better get all the butt play he can handle in over the next few months imo.

Thank you both for your heartwarming concern.

However, I believe it is a direct result of drinking a lot of water before bed. I've always had to get up once to go to the bathroom afaik throughout my life. Now doesn't seem any worse except I'm much more liable to be like "oh man, I haven't had much water, better load up" while getting ready for bed.

Yugo,

Most of what I posted in response to fakebusto and his seated pullthrough post applies equally well here, imo.
