This thread made him face facts about himself he didn't like confronting. Once he had some other sources of attention that didn't require that, this thread had no chance.

Facing the issues with his parenting were likely the most upsetting and "trollish" to him. Simply pointing out that his children didn't consider their absentee father "Dad of the Year" must've been earth shattering for him.

I heard from YTF. He is alive and well and has been hitting the gym again lately, but he has gained some weight back. He is not interested in posting in this thread, but said its fine to quote him if I want to.

Here's the part everyone was wondering about:

Happy to hear its still on his mind. I think thats the biggest pro and con about fitness/nutrition, once you learn about it, it cant entirely be unlearned

250 really isn't bad at all, compared to potential relapse he had in him. It's still pretty worrisome for somebody his age and height, of course, but I wouldn't call him a ticking time bomb either.

yeah, that's basically about what I was thinking too, but one thing that he noticed at 250 is his snoring is a lot worse. I think that is what lit a fire under him again so that he eats healthier again.

Went to my first Perkins and instantly thought "I should order the YTF meal".

Then I realized it was two meals and YTF palate choices (Steak medallions and Jumbo shrimp), so I just got the Southern Fried Chicken Biscuit Breakfast with an apple pie (free on mondays, they don't normally add cheese on top, tho I asked).

Morbidly obese people becoming just regular obese is like a homeless alcoholic moving down to functional alcoholism. Its 2017, but surely we can find better things to praise people for than being 80lbs overweight instead of 180.

I'd also prefer the glass of YTF's greatness to be full, but I prefer to emphasize that it's half-full than that it's half-empty. YTF is not lean yet (and probably not really planning to be - well, that's his life, not ours) but at least he's made some progress.
