I'm in Chanhassen. Walked the trails along Lake Ann today (1.1 miles from my house), checked out the trails along Lake Susan last week (>2-3 miles from my house).

THURSDAY, AUGUST 9, 2012

BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER, SNACK: Carbon copy of yesterday, except add one breadstick from a non-chain pizza place. Someone showed up with a box full at work, and I had been yearning for some bread for a couple of days now, so I had this carb-bomb. You can be disappointed that I had one, or proud that I resisted the urge to have two, it's entirely up to you.

EXERCISE: Woke up early (nervous/excited about tomorrow's first date?) 55 mins walk. My calves are already starting to firm up.

Carbs are not bad. Stop equating carbs with bad.

Nice work on the walking.

Carbs are bad if you are sedentary, you don't need them.

See in the world of nutrition we have essential fatty acids. We need those guys. We also have essential amino acids. So obviously we need them fats and them proteins. But essential carbs? No such thing bro.

Cut em out. Cut them all out. When you start running marathons YTF, we'll allow you to have to a have a sweet potato or two. But for now, cut, cut, cut.

"bad" apparently means the same thing as "nonessential"

Trolling obviously. But kind of serious actually. I obviously know the problem in America is calorie consumption, but in most cases pretty hard to eat tons of protein and its not like fat is delicious straight out of the jar (except for mayo obviously). So normally fat coming along with some protein.

Yet the carbs so easy to eat (a whole pizza anyone?) and so delicious. And they not even essential. Cut em all out brothers!!!

YTK - my g/f's parents live within walking distance from Lake Susan.

If you need a walking buddy around one of those lakes some time, I'm game. Although, the last time I was at Lake Susan I believe my g/f and I tried to run around it and the path wasn't continuous? We basically got lost but aren't sure how, lol.

Anyway, walking with you I'm sure will be fun if for no other reason than I then get to post a TR and also confirm how much DuH was rustling your jimmies.

Re: The Log That Put H&F on the Map: YouTalkFunny's Weightloss Log

I've always thought carbs are pretty damn "bad" for sedentary people. People like OP who sit down for a living, perform no exercise, no weight training, no walking, etc are probably going to want to limit their carb intake by quite a bit.

DU? AB?

How did you form this opinion? To have any opinion you should probably have investigated the very things that DU or AB would reference, thus negating the need to ask for their assistance.

Also, is OP even bothering with taking a fish oil or a multi every now and then? I see no fiber or EFAs in this "diet."

He's doing well starving himself for now by limiting his calories but he's still pretty much eating like ****. Macros might be fine, but his micros are lol?

Paved paths are prob on gmaps yeah? If so, confirmed imo.

You thought wrong. Carbs are no worse than fat. Slightly "worse" than protein since the termic effect is lower, but you can't eat 100% protein anyway so...no. Metastudies of different diet types yield no better results for low carb diets than a more balanced approach. The only consistent finding is that (relatively) high protein is preferable for most lifestyles.

That being said, it can certainly be easy to overeat on certain foods containing carbs. And nomzies containing lots of sugar are hard to fit into anyone's diet (beyond small amounts), so in an oversimplified way you can say that avoiding those is good. That's inexpert eating though.

There is zero ****ing doubt that this dude is starving, btw. ZERO. NONE. Once he stalls - and he will - the motivation falters and he fails for the 12th time.

OP, pick up one or some of those green leafy things you find in the cool section of the grocery store. You'll start to realize how great fiber works to keep you feeling fuller throughout the day.
