Re: The Log That Put H&F on the Map: YouTalkFunny's Weightloss Log

YTF,

All the haters gonna hate. And to a point I think they're being nutrition nits. But it's so important to watch a) having blowout days and b) being imprecise with your measurements. The two end up going hand in hand and blowing your whole plan.

Eat what you want,
Keep to your daily goals wth occaisonally slipping being OK
Keep religiously to your weekly goals
Log everything as accurately as possible.

Logging is such a beautiful and simple diet plan. It doesn't require big changes, it doesn't require much from people, but it does require they log everything and do so accurately. Please focus on doing that.

If you only crap once a day and are a larger person, its quite easy to crap out 1lb. Sounds delightful.

You should weigh yourself only after doing the bidness.

1 lb is probably common. A pint of piss should be about a lb, which isn't that big of a piss.

DINNER: Got those bacon-wrapped filet mignon things that you always see at WalMart and never buy. Two filets, ten oz total, 500 cals, according to the package. I fried 'em in a pan, nuked a small can of corn, and split a TBSP of butter between the corn and the steak. Those filets weren't bad, but certainly not so good I'd fall over myself saying you should try 'em. 722 cals.

SNACK: banana, 110 cals.

TOTAL: 1769 cals. The scale slowing down this week seems to be motivational.
good job!

620 calories by my math. 1.93/g for beef tenderloin (492) and 4.58/g for bacon, 9 oz beef 1 oz bacon (128).

The take home here is that packages are wrong sometimes.

You are both wrong.

His number matches mine.

Says 2.47/g

I got 1.93 from the booklet that came with the scale previously linked itt.

How to know which is correct?

Well you need to read what the descriptions say. The one I linked was lean only, which is v common for steak medallions. (And exactly corroborates the packaging). I suppose we could look at a picture to see if there is noticeable fat that can be separated.

You booklet is identical to the nutritiondata information for cooked. Why you would ever apply that to a package of raw meat is beyond me, but apparently calorie counting is much more complex than I ever dreamed possible. (Sorry goofball. I was of a like mind, but I erred.)

Re: The Log That Put H&F on the Map: YouTalkFunny's Weightloss Log

MONDAY, AUGUST 6, 2012

BREAKFAST: usual omelet, 3 bacon. 672 cals.

LUNCH: usual salad, ranch, 3 oz chix. 325 cals.

DINNER: Finish off the teriyaki chix (7 oz, plus 1 tbsp of teriyaki marinade) with a small can of peas. 487 cals.

SNACK: no banana today. I had brought one to work for a snack, but it looked gross, so I tossed it. 0 cals.

TOTAL: 1484, by far the lowest since we've started, not counting days at the start where I skipped meals because I wasn't feeling well--heck, it might even be lower than those days, too!

80% chance I'm not going to karaoke tomorrow. And if I do go, it will only be a short visit, and a VERY light drinking night (if at all).

GJ, but actually it's important to keep the calories up a little higher. Being that calorie deficient for a few days will lead to some serious hunger cravings. I know, been there, done that.

Re: The Log That Put H&F on the Map: YouTalkFunny's Weightloss Log

There is nothing "v common" or "standard" when it comes to meat descriptions. They vary regionally and by retailer. If you are gonna douchebag you should stick to subject areas you know and not assume that what is standard in whatever second world ****hole on some other continent that you find yourself in is standard in flyover country USA or wherever the hell ytf is.

The most reliable information we have that the label and you are correct is the label and the fact that it didnt taste good enough to recommend to others. So there was presumably some vetting by the retailer and there is probably not enough fat to make it delicious.
