Re: You're going to suffer, but you're going to be happy about it: Gizmo's log
iono, maybe I've gotten used to it. I eat around 8-9 am (when I'm not at work) and then workout/shower and it's 1 pm and I'm like, "oh I should do lunch".
I've been mostly trying to keep my calories under a certain limit. I eat mostly a veggie diet because my fiance is a vegetarian and I'm lazy when it comes to making food.
I'm not a huge fan of eggs, but I can sometimes handle scrambled or over-easy. I would think cheese is a bad place to go?

my problem with cheese is it's very tough to buy single servings of it, and if it's in the house, I'm going to eat it
frankly that's how I survive on my diet so easily, I work from home and I buy groceries daily. The only things I buy in bulk are chicken, eggs, and green veggies, and no one can binge on those.

I'm pretty good about measuring amounts out, and if I have cheese (shredded) I'll just use a 1/4 cups (which is usually around 100 cals). So, like, should I be doing something like 2 eggs scrambled with 1/4 cup of cheddar and a piece of Ezekiel toast or something?

Re: You're going to suffer, but you're going to be happy about it: Gizmo's log
you could try anything, see if you feel more full later in the day, or if you have more energy during workouts or whatnot
there's no secret, if you aren't losing weight you need to eat fewer calories. Sometimes it's hard to eat fewer calories and feel full, this is mainly due to the types of calories you're consuming. The more volume you can work in for zero/few calories, the better. That's why green veggies should get a lot of use during deficit dieting.

I don't know about you guys, but if I'm eating peanut butter, it's not a 1 tablespoon serving size I'm using.
Also, spenda is very right about getting more breakfast bang for your buck. Cottage cheese with berries, a bit of oatmeal, eggs, fruit, or honestly, a kale smoothie or something.

Re: You're going to suffer, but you're going to be happy about it: Gizmo's log
Ugh, cottage cheese.
But okay, I'll keep a detailed food diary for the next week (and post everything) and try to stay at 1400 calories everyday (should I do this net? or over all?). I'll weigh in tomorrow and hopefully see a pound come off. If not, I guess I'll just drop another 100 the next week until I see a pound come off. Dats the goal.
Also, don't judge me - I actually measure out the tbsp of pb. Granted the pb's "tablespoon" may not be the same as my measuring spoon (which is an actual measuring spoon, mind you) since the sizes for measuring spoons aren't truly standardized.

lol @ measuring one tablespoon of PB. That's like opening a bag of chips and eating one (a lot easier to not open it at all).

I'm not actually the biggest fan of pb. Texture thing.

Re: You're going to suffer, but you're going to be happy about it: Gizmo's log
No judging here, I measure everything I can religiously too (my newly bought food scale has seen so much use in the last month).
I make an omelette (or perhaps more like scrambled eggs) every morning. 4 eggs (50 gram eggs), some salt and pepper, ~300 calories, ~24 gram protein, generally feel full after eating it. I've been eating roughly 1650 calories a day, though less than that on most days (some drinking/eating out nights bringing the average up), and the breakfast eggs have been working great for me. Something to consider/try perhaps.
It's also what I ate for breakfast every morning when I lost ~35 pounds over a summer 4 years ago.

How about Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla) and fruit and some (not lots) pf granola for breakfast?
Btw I had fried egg and avocado sandwich tonight with chipotle in adobo/mayo spread. Recommended for taste but not diet imo.

Re: You're going to suffer, but you're going to be happy about it: Gizmo's log
I might get flamed a little for this, but I've always found its far easier for me to eat less when I don't eat breakfast at all. I, personally, could take or leave breakfast anyway. I'm like slightly peckish when I wake up and I generally am too lazy to do anything about it and before I know it lunchtime comes along.
When I do eat breakfast, its awesome and it seems to make me feel better and stuff, but it also serves to stoke up my appetite and I'm starving for lunch 3 hours later. Hence, eating more.

I eat those frozen microwaveable bags of green beans. A ridiculous amount of volume, no cooking, and almost no calories at all if you are a fan of veggies. You can even have a side of two eggs and 2 slices of bacon and feel stuffed for under 300 calories.

Re: You're going to suffer, but you're going to be happy about it: Gizmo's log
I'd go with the high volume low calories suggestions. Densely caloric foods are really bad when trying to lose weight because it's incredibly easy to ingest a lot of calories and not feel full.
For example, an egg white omelette cooked with Pam and stuffed with veggies is a huge difference from bacon, eggs and toast with butter. I'd advise against eating things you don't like eating. Personally, I hate eating things I dislike because of it being less calories. If I want a burger, I get a burger, but no cheese and no mayo or sauce or any of that other crap. Mayo and french fires is my biggest issues, but I've been going with mustard lately.
Breakfast can be hardboiled eggs (chuck the yolks), or scrambled egg whites with toast and coffee or tea. Don't like egg whites? Add some spices to it like old-bay seasoning, they will taste different. Little things like that really help me get through changing my eating habits. You could always post your meals and we could come up with alternatives that are very similar instead of vastly different. These slight changes make a huge difference over the course of a month and you'll see dramatic results, really.
Don't put in this effort and not see results, it's one of the biggest factors in people failing. You want to see results - that's the fun part.

Otay, not the best day. I worked. I work as a nurse tech, so I'm on my feet for 12 hours, basically. I help people bathe and I wipe their asses after making their beds. yay healthcare!
So, I guess putting this up here and getting ridiculed will help me eat better the next time I'm at work
I weighed in at 151.6 this morning, fwiw.
