I have had a couple different ones. I got Clif bars, and more recently some called ZonePerfect from Costco. They are pretty tasty, and a decent amount of protein (I know they have more carbs/sugar than is neckbeard-approved).
As far as being full, I will on occasion have a yogurt also before lunch, maybe 20% of the time. I also have learned that it's OK to not feel stuffed after every meal, and OK to not eat the first time you get that "hmm hungry" feeling. Very often, the hunger will just go away quickly.
Weekend was fun, but not great calorically.
6/30: Good calorically despite the cookie. Composition could be better.
7/1: Bacon and eggs at home, then on the road for 3 hours. Ate lunch w GF and kids at GF's dad's place. Limited myself well on fries, but had half of my younger daughter's burger. Then on the road for 3 more hours. July 4th party with my brother, cousins, aunt and uncle. Had two patties and a hot dog, but only one bun. Oops booze.
7/2: Hotel breakfast, went on the larger side, since plan was no lunch. Drove 3 hours, met my stepdad and his wife at the Perot Museum in Dallas, which is fantastic. Had the Super Pretzel there for a snack. Dinner at Red Robin - good was I subbed chili for the fries (had 5 of my gf's fries), bad was I had a 360 cal cocktail.
7/3: Better day. Hotel breakfast, more reasonable. Went with GF and kids to waterpark, so lots of exercise during the day. Got a hot dog for lunch at the park. Went to 4th of July celebration in evening and got Sonic there. Split small tots with GF but daughter didn't finish hers and I did. We got froyo while waiting for fireworks.
7/4: Good job again on the hotel breakfast. Met GF's mom and brother and wife at Chili's for lunch. Good lunch choice, did have literally 4 chips of the bottomless chips and salsa that came with my GF's mom and brother's unlimited soup/salad. Added a cup of chili to my lunch. Drove 3 hours home. Other brother and his GF came over and I grilled. Had an awesome prime blue cheese burger, a sausage and brat. No bread for the brats and I skipped all the chips that were available. Did have a cider and a vodka/RB.
Overall, I still am right at my target for the last 7 days, despite going over on my last 4. Looking to put a few good days together before I leave again for work on Sunday.
