I don't have premium, but I can't see how one can make a "group" on Strava.

Yeah, a 2+2 Strava group should be done, who wants to make it?

I haven't done it myself, I will have time to look at it in like 5-6 hours or tomorrow.

unfrgvn made a group. not sure who he already invited; i just invited some of you (again?). send me (or him) a PM or write here if you didn't get an invite. (don't know if he wants to post the group publicly, otherwise we can just link it here, that makes it easier, hehe)

unfortunately it's a cycling only group, so my volume looks just absolutely terrible (because it is!). personally, i would change it to triathlon, so that the running stuff shows up as well (at least that's how i understand it). but i don't care thaaaat much

I just joined the club, although I'm not really much of a cyclist. Just getting out on one or two rides per week atm as cross training for running.

I have always used MapMyRide/Fitness to log my rides. I quit using the gps tracking and just enter them manually after the ride based on my Bontrager Trip 200 unit but I will give Strava a try and if I think I will use it regularly I might want to join the group so I can see how little I ride compared to you guys. :P

I invited people I follow and follow me, that I know are 2+2. Please feel free to invite any else that I might have missed.

I changed it to triathlon, per request. If anyone has a better idea for the name, it can still be changed. Ditto for the logo. The logo has to be 248x248 pixels.

I have developed a bit of a cough over the last 3 days or so, but not really feeling sick otherwise. The weather might be both very windy and rainy, a large low pressure is still hit or miss. I am going to Motala soon, but if the weather looks horrible and I don't feel good I will probably cancel the ride.

So, I am really suspicious of the efficacy, but my doctor told me to use zinc lozenges at the first sign of a cough. I tried it once. No idea if it works or not, but the taste is pretty foul.

Hope the cough doesn't scupper it for you.

Ditto, hope the weather is better and you are not sick. Seems to be something to the zinc thing:

We had 2 hours of heavy rain mid race, other than that conditions were pretty good!

Started solo then did 40 miles with a sub 9 group(about 22 mph average moving speed). Lost them at the stops at about the 100 km mark. After that it was pretty dead. Ended up riding solo and in sporadic groups of 2-6 riders for the last 200 km. Felt strong the whole way though so I am really happy with this Vätternrunda. Beat last years total time by 1h 50m and the moving time by 50 minutes.

Some of the longer downhills in the dark at speeds of 50-60+km/h with the large sub 9 group was a surreal experience.

Also, now I know another disadvantage using a phone instead of garmin, I had my charger connected to the phone during the heavy rain which requires an open hatch. The water got in and the phone is destroyed.

btw, one of the main reasons most fast large groups don't start in the nighttime, is because it is dangerous(these groups are also hazardous in the daytime).

I didn't cough once during the ride. Minutes after finishing I started coughing again. Can anyone explain that?

Great work on the race, that's a helluva effort.

No idea why but I get this too so guess it's pretty common. If I've had a bad throat/chest, I will be fine during a race but straight afterwards, like within 2 mins of finishing, I'll start up with a really bad cough.

Thanks Rusty! Next year I will try to join a sub 9 group. Now I know that I can keep up with them.

Perhaps mucus builds up like in sleep, when the body is occupied by more pressing matters.

Ron, what you are doing has to be one of the most physically demanding activities that people want to call a hobby or sport or exercise . Heck I can't even walk up a mountain without gasping for breath.

It is pretty tough, but then put me on a bike for 50 miles and watch me fall apart!

Well, OK, but put me at the bottom of a mountain and watch me sit in the shade and drink beer instead of running up it.
