Why wouldn't you have cut yourself off from the start? I can't imagine candy and **** helps you with your goals.

I basically eat anything I can see - huge sight eater. And when I used to work in an office with candy bowls and ****, I just made sure to completely ignore them and never allow the habit to surface.

It is simple! Just not "easy" (well, it is easy when you don't cheat, but also very easy to cheat, if that makes sense)

Suzzer knew me likely when I was near my peak (220lbs, no muscle or physical activity) and maybe also saw me near my low (160lbs). I'm 187 atm, having gained 20lbs since starting compound barbell lifts almost exactly 1 year ago.

So I'm struggling with a whole different set of issues but part of me still worries a bit that I'll just go back to eating like **** and gaining a ton of fat.

Gotta WIM imo. Also, changing what you want from "a bunch of crappy food" to "a more reasonable amount of food + other things". Like, instead of wanting to eat out every single day for lunch, I want to eat out once a week at lunch and really look forward to it. And tbh it's kind of nice to just have quick, simple lunches and do other stuff (browse 2p2, talk with ppl, get chores done) at lunch.

Not expecting much tomorrow. I just got back from Peru for 2 weeks and then a wedding in KC. But I did just sign up for some really hard aerobics-type classes at a gym near me. Everyone doing them was really fit. Planning to do those twice/week in addition to the trainer twice/week and hopefully motivating myself to do the stair-mill 2 more times/week.

No excuses summer!

Nice job!

234.

If I don't lose at least 5 lbs. this month I donate. No traveling, I'm starting the hard aerobics thing on Monday, and I'm going to be mostly a hermit. No more excuses.

Did the first session of the new group training class this morning. Brutal. Looking forward to working my way up to actually being able to do all the stuff.

My only qualm is I don't want to diet too much at first or I'll just die in that class. Trying to keep a balance.

Do you guys track your caloric intake at all or consistently? It seems this challenge log mainly talks about losing weight but there is a lot of focus on trying to come up with new physically active things to do to stick with (which is good, maybe even better than losing weight) but little talk about diet except for "ate/drank too much".

I started last month with MY Fitness Pal. It tracks everything including diet and excercise. I plugged in my weight and age and it suggests a calrie intake.
Its amazing the database of foods it has in it and you can add as well.

Hmm, when I plug info into that instead of the intermittent fasting calculator it seems wildly, wildly different in terms of recommendation for losing weight. I guess you burn more calories when eating in an IF manner, but the difference is really staggering.

IF gave me 2300 calories on off days and 2900 on lifting days for -.5lbs/week and myfitness pal says I need to eat like 2k calories every day to lose .5lbs/week. Seems like a huge, huge difference.
