I have a good diet that I got from a nutritionist. I know it works if I stick to it. Then if I hit a wall I switch to 200/150/100/50 carb/day cycle. That **** works like crazy.

It's just about sticking to the diet which is very hard to do and have any kind of social life. Unless you enjoy hanging out with your drunk friends eating cauliflower and drinking club soda. But I'm pretty set on being a hermit this summer. I can miss a few months of socializing to get this done.

If the diet isn't possible to stick to while being social, maybe a different dietary plan would work?

Unless being social involves going out literally every other night for tons of drinks and eating, I dno, seems like it should be possible to consume quite a bit (maybe not "all of it") and still make progress by adjusting caloric intake the rest of the week.

I can go out twice a week and not gain weight if I'm getting a lot of exercise and sticking to the diet otherwise. Going out even once a week and still losing weight is very hard. My metabolism sux basically.

The 200/150/100/50 plan is a little better if I can work my going out days to coincide with the 200 days. But the 50 day is pretty rough. It only worked well when I was playing poker and could basically just lay around all day after I worked out. Going in to an office, being productive, and interacting with people without biting their heads off is a challenge on 50 carb day.

Yes but it really lets me see the calories and fat in the foods I am eating. Especially the bad foods. If you exercise alot it adds calories also.


For me my goal is 20 lbs by August 20th trip to Vegas. That is 9 weeks and 1 day. So roughly 2 lbs a week.

I plan on updating my weight every Friday instead of every month.

Lozen - thank Suzzer who I know/knew IRL. Although your avatar helps me read this thread, lol, .

That is a pretty aggressive goal but it would be great to lock in and pwn your weight.

I still think finding a set of habits you can implement for the next X years (not weeks or months) is the way to go. Like, I don't know what Suzzer does on his night out, but whatever he is consuming, even if his metabolism sucks, I'd guess can be overcome the rest of the week by eating fewer calories.

One thing I've found can really help (besides not eating out) is to eat foods that have a really high nutrient/calorie ratio...they tend to have alot of volume per calorie. Like, vegetables and even fruit. It's extremely hard to gorge on veggies and fruit for a caloric surplus imo.

Obv I'm not saying just eat those two types of things, but I mean, if you're gonna go out all night and consume 2k calories of food and alcohol, maybe the rest of the day should just be cabbage and water or something.

What Yugo said a couple posts ago. The fact that you put yourself on diets that you don't seem to like and make you irritable make this harder than it needs to be. You can consume a ton at your weight and still lose weight, even with minimal exercise. It's just about finding the right combination for you.

Weekly Weigh in

240 another 2.2 lbs that is 7.5 lbs this month. This weeks goal 3 lbs .

Gonna be super hot this week in the 30 degree range so will be out on the bike a ton

Tough Weekend Biking yesterday in the 31 degree heat (90F) and got lazy on end of ride and over the handle bars I went. Little bruised and a few road rashes. Gonna be in the high 80's low 90's all week. Ouch

Hopefully Suzzer doing well also

Not really. I'm getting a ton of exercise with this new group- training thing that's at least twice as hard as the boot camp I used to do. I like it a lot but I haven't really been motivated to diet at all. But getting in much better shape will pay off soon.

Was doing good this weekend - then some girl just texted me out of the blue to get a beer - which ended up being about 10 beers. But I got some sloppy so it was worth it.

Lol, I completely just didn't read your past tbh.

That is pretty awesome....although the real goal hasn't been achieved, which is to keep losing weight until you hit the one you want and then maintain it, . If getting there fast helps you achieve that, then to doing it fast, lol.

I'm so swollen right now from working out a bunch and that group training thing - I have cankles. Not that I was going to make my goal anyway, but now it won't even be close.

This is not very hard at all. What exactly do you do with your friends that going out once a week will have that much of an impact on your overall diet?

I don't really see how or why what is on your plate while out with your friends should have much of an impact on how much fun you are having. And if you are having a few diet cokes or whatever w/liquor in place of beer is that going to prohibit you from having a good time?

And of course there are other ways to socialize that do not involve food or drink. But when they do, all it takes is some discipline and tinkering of your diet to ensure your macros stay in line.
