Re: Soulman's no longer an admin: Sanity Log
Seems reasonable enough. I was thinking about doing something a little less intense. Something like, totally own WRs on all lifts by the end of the year, then eat at a very small deficit from january onward.
This will most likely result in spinning my wheels on lifts (which is fine as long as I lose bf) but will help not only look good for summer time, but help increase my vert quite a bit, mostly due to weighing less.
So you're gonna diet til christmas, take a week to party then start off the last year of the world doing... UD2.0?

Re: Soulman's no longer an admin: Sanity Log
Heh, no, Lyle's workout tips can *****. 90% sure I'll just start TM. By Lyle's plan I meant staying within the 10-15% BF range. So down to 10-11, small surplus up to 14-15, down again etc. For however long it takes me to reach uh, some goal.

Re: Soulman's no longer an admin: Sanity Log
SM - don't you have long standing shoulder issues? Could that be what's kept you from progressing your bench? Or am I thinking of a different log. Ot maybe I'm thinking of Cha, since he's had every issue known to man, lol. But overcome them all b/c he's a huge rockstar.

Re: Soulman's no longer an admin: Sanity Log
No, I just got injured doing dips. Took a good while healing it, but my bench sucked long before that. I consider myself basically injury free now, no pain benching at all. Only time I notice it is if I'm laying on that side in bed, and then only slightly.

Re: Soulman's no longer an admin: Sanity Log
2011-10-02
Moved yesterday's training, since both my partners dropped out and I was running very low on sleep.
Press
2x5x59 kg
1x7x59 kg (130 lbs, +1 kg, +1 rep)
Happy with getting the seventh, first two fives felt fairly heavy.
Squat
2x5x115 kg
1x6x115 kg (253 lbs, +2.5 kg, -1 rep)
Bleh. Failed the seventh rep, first time I've failed a rep without safety bars. Dumping behind was fine and no prob. A bit disappointed with this. Getting ready to hate on GSLP.
Push-Ups
1x15x25 kg
2x13x25 kg
GHR
2x10
ETA:
Weight: 87.0 kg (191 lbs, -0.6 kg)
Eh, 88 yesterday. Truth prob somewhere in between. Got back to the fifth notch on the belt on Thursday so something's happened though.

Squat
3x5x117.5 kg (259 lbs, +2.5 kg, -1 rep)
First two sets were rock solid. Last set was pretty meh from the start, think the setup was a bit janky (bar and foot positioning). Spent too long after rep five just breathing and started to black out a bit so didn't go for the sixth. Oh wells. Felt way better than last time I did 117.5 though.
Big break to watch the gym owner run 400 m, with the 1996 Olympics 800 m gold winner as a rabbit (google it). He aimed for 1:42, Rodal's winning time for 800. Finished at around 2:50, lol. Had to walk from 200 meters --> 330 or so. Super heavy weight powerlifters apparently suck at running, who knew. Pretty hilarious to watch, prob 50 people watching.
Bench Press
2x5x80 kg
1x6x80 kg (176 lbs, +1 kg, +0 reps)
Chins
6, 7, 5
Lost some reps here with gaining weight and all.

Nah, it's just getting colder and gravity is increasing a little bit for a couple months.

Press
2x5x60 kg
1x6.8x60 kg (132 lbs, +1 kg, -1 rep)
Soooo close on the 7th. Oh well, still pretty happy. First two sets were rock solid and pretty easy, really attacked the bar. Optimistic about breaking my previous 3x5 (61 kg).
Sumo DL
5x105 kg
3x120 kg
2x132.5 kg
5x122.5 kg
My hams and the outside of my quads were pretty tired and the 120 felt surprisingly heavy. Cramped up bad after the second rep at 132.5 and just had to give it up. Wouldn't have had the target 6 reps anyways. Bad DL day, shrug.
Kroc Rows
24/23 x 52 kg (114 lbs, +0 kg, +0/+2 reps)
And some planks.

Re: Soulman's no longer an admin: Sanity Log
6.8 reps is decent.
I could probably press 155 x 0.6 x 9.5

Re: Soulman's no longer an admin: Sanity Log
I have never pressed a 0.5 rep that didn't end as a 1.0

Re: Soulman's no longer an admin: Sanity Log
It's possible I could have finished it, but noticed layback was huge and didn't want to risk getting into lumbar trouble (which has happened once before). With better technique on the last rep I would have had it.

Feeling pretty crushed today. Celebrating a project being finished tonight so I doubt I'm lifting tomorrow. Think I might need the extra day anyways. Nom nom nom gourmet eating coming up.
