U jelly brahs?

14 nov,
First deload week, I think I've never felt so lost in the gym before. Had no idea what I was gonna do, I just did some complete random ****, trying to avoid a hard workout, lol. So boring.

5/3/1 cycle 1 week 4 back (deload)
Deadlift
5x50 (sumo)
5x60 (sumo)
5x75kg
i tried the sumo stance for the first time ever on the first two sets, I'm a fan. It's feels like I'm a lot more in control of my spine both mentally and physically. Maybe it's just because pussy weights, dunno. Only thing that sucks about it is that my shins touch the rough part of the barbell so could cause some blood. Dunno where I should go with this

Pull up bw 1x5reps
Planks 2x2min
RDL 4x12x40kg
Crunches 2x50

Deload week sucks

Wear long socks/cut outs from plastic bottles/knee sleeves down at your shins to avoid bloodshed.

Or you could just buy shin sleeves and not use the homeless man's solution

Yeah, the plastic bottle thing always seems unnecessary to me. Plus a compression sleeve (what they really are for) is probably not bad for calf mobility anyway, .

lol believe me, not a fan of the lame-ass bottle stuff. Put it in there for completeness more than anything else.

I just lolled because the plastic bottle suggestion made up like 50% of Kidcolins posts for like a year.

I just wear long socks.

I mean, if you're a hitman you can just recycle the bottles that you've used as a silencer

Green living imo

Syndr0m,
I check out the log of some dude who says he's going to be bigger than me, and it looks like he's some sort of fancy male model. Big reveal at the end: it was this log.

Pls explain.

Also, I say put the bar higher on your back and continue to squat very deep like that. Just in imo.

Just don't try to take low bar cues to a high bar technique

It's simple. Some guys are handsome, some guys are huge. I will be both. The holy grail is looking like a sexy beast at 300lbs. Can't argue with that

He's serious. You're pretty much squatting high bar style with a low bar bar position

This is long, but has some good info on bar position and it's relation to hbbs and lbbs.

I remember you posted that link in beginners thread as well after a LBBS/HBBS related question, bookmarked it back then but still haven't really gone through it properly

Anyway

17 nov deload day lol, just did all the remaining deload 531 stuff in 1 workout cause it's just too boring else

5/3/1 cycle 1 week 4: deload
Sq
5x40
5x45
5x55

Bench
5x40
5x45
5x55

Press
5x20
5x25
5x30

Lever seated crunch 3x15x...
Hanging leg raise 1x10
Reverse crunches 3x25

Could even feel some shoulder discomfort while benching little weight, hopefully this week "off" did some good

I didn't really lower my calories during deload week and I feel/look like a fat lazy slob right now sigh

If I didn't know any better I would've said I gained like 4% BF and lost a lot of muscle this week

Re: Skinny to huge transformation log (5/3/1+BB+P90x)

19 nov

5/3/1 Cycle 2 - Week 1 - Back

DL
warmups
5x50
5x62,5
3x75

workset
5x85,5
5x97,5
8x110kg

Assistance work
BOR 4x12x70lbs
Lat pulldown 4x12x"10"

Hanging leg raise 12 12 12

I noticed that my grip is really holding me back on all of the assistance work after doing the deadlifts, with the lat pulldowns I can manage the weight but my grip hurts like hell towards the end and I always have to let go by rep 12. By the time I'm supposed to do hanging leg raises I can barely hold my own weight.

Any advice on that?

Re: Skinny to huge transformation log (5/3/1+BB+P90x)

For whatever your grip is failing on. Most likely just the assistance work in your case.

Like, when I'm doing lots of RDLs or something after deadlifting, I'll go for as many as possible until my grip gives out, then I strap up for the rest. So today I did 2x10 no straps and 3x10 straps.

Re: Skinny to huge transformation log (5/3/1+BB+P90x)

20 nov
5/3/1 Cycle 2 Week 1: Benchpress
Warmup
5x40
5x45
5x55

this is the warmup Wendler prescribes, but I actually doubt if it's enough

Bench
6x60 (oops, accidently did 6)
5x70
13x80

Assistance work
Dips 10 9 8 8

Db flyes 4x12x15kg

Triceps pushdown 5x20x"9"

Push ups 4 to failure 12 10 9 8

Felt weaker than usual, weird considering I just had a deload week
