Very confused. Was expecting another 180+ travesty. We'll see how the data plays out the next couple weeks though, don't really have enough info. Didn't really cheat too much though so it's possible I'm losing weight, especially considering the EC stack.

Switched the order up today, but I really don't think it matters too much.

Squat: 1x4 @ 295, 1x4 @ 285, 1x5 @ 225

Pretty terrible. Just felt like turd and my form blows. I think I'm gonna do a big reset and really work on form. A video will be posted during the reset so I can really perfect my form.

Bench: 2x5 @ 225, 1x7 @ 225

Standard, felt great. Video will be posted today or tomorrow.

Curls: 2x14 @ 65

Felt really tough, next time will be interesting.

Kind of a huge reset. Really wanna get more comfortable with my form though, last time was a disaster. Here are my 3 sets. Also linking in the form check thread for some advice. Unfortunately I just totally forgot that I was supposed to do more reps on the 3rd set, but oh well.

Bench: 3x5 @ 230


No extra reps because a guy came over to spot me and I got a little nervous/pissed off. Felt good though. 235 next time. Inching up to the PR of 240...

Curls: 2x15 @ 65

Sweet. Next time is 10@70.

Deadlift: 1x4 @ 335

Strengthwise I felt ok. But I just got so exhausted and a little bit dizzy. Probably should start to repeat weight anyway, so I'll try 335 again next time. Also really focused on fixing my rounded back, got a little bit better, but not perfect yet.

Doing the looking down thing now. Gonna have to video tape myself next time, it feels a little weird not looking at yourself in the mirror. I like the looking down though, it feels good if you can keep yourself from leaning forward; feels like you can get more power.

Press: 2x5 @ 150, 1x6 @ 150

O man... this was so beast... I dunno how the hell I got 6 out on that last one, but it was sweet. 152.5 next time. 150 was a huge "local PR" as I like to call it. And by "local PR" I mean it would be a global PR if my set of press weights was convex.

Chin-ups: 2x8 @ +20

Mad tough, but I got that 16th rep out cleanly. Very excited I graduated from +20. Using what I like to call a "half plate" and doing +25 next time.

Keep at it, man. Your lift numbers are a fair bit ahead of mine, but close enough to keep giving me plenty of motivation - im sure the weight loss will get in line soon

Thanks man, these comments really do help. Not giving up yet, it's just frustrating. I bought a BodyMedia Fit today; not expecting it to change my life or anything but it could provide some interesting insight and help me tweak my target calories a little better.

Got my BodyMedia Fit. Looks like I really just don't burn a lot and I have to eat under 2k calories to lose weight. Kinda lame but definitely makes sense and I'm glad I know now.

Was dead tired right from the start. No bonus reps on anything this time, was just so tired. Press was tough but I think I'll try 160 next time. Chin-ups were also real tough, I'll repeat the same thing on Wednesday and see what happens. Squats were fine actually, might've even been able to do some bonus reps but I just wanted to get the hell out of there.

Also, can you go through your various diets and give a brief thought on each? I am considering a Leangains type IF diet fwiw.

Edit: How tall are you? 160 is really your target weight? That seems ridiculously low.

What? Please explain how you have to eat under 2000kc to lose weight when you are at a BW of 181lbs.

Hey man great to hear your words of motivation! I've been struggling on the weight loss side of things, but I've learned a lot over the past few months and my life (dietwise) is a little hectic right now, so I guess I'm happy just to maintain for the next couple months.

Regarding the diets, I don't think I've experimented too much other than RFL and IF. I'm still not sure how I feel about RFL in general. I don't think people should do something like that for the most part, but if the desire to crash diet is really there than it can be a good way to chip off some fat. It just sucks a lot, hurts social life, and is not healthy. IF on the other hand is fantastic. I find fasting to be very easy because I'm sort of in a whole different mindset of "I can't eat ANYTHING" during the fast, as opposed to a diet without a fast where I just wanna nibble on snacks every chance I get.

Regarding my target bodyweight, it's really a rough estimate, but I don't think it's too low. I'm 5'7" btw. I've been estimated anywhere from 15-19% bodyfat (I really wanna get more recent estimates soon). So lets say I'm 17% at 180 lbs, that is 149 lbs lbm. I wanna get down to the 8-10% range, which is a bodyweight of like 162-165.

That turned out to be a bit of an exaggeration, but not by far. Rest days I burn around 2400 cals, workout days around 2700 cals. So a 500 deficit means 1900-2200 cals. Plus I end up drinking on the weekends so I like to keep the deficit closer to 600, and there you go.

I have not, but this could be a fantastic idea... I will think about this during work tomorrow. Maybe I'll get back on Tues/Sat. This would allow me to eat more, which is necessary because of all the eating out and drinking and whatnot for the summer. Thanks for this idea.

PR on the press! No clue how I extra repped a PR... Chin-ups was interesting, the belt somehow unclipped and fell off me during my first set. So I took a rest (although probably not a full rest) and pretended it never happened and started over. Whatever, gonna go for 7,7 next time and work from there. Deadlift is tough. I think my back is definitely rounding; not sure how to fix it.

Alright. Figured out how much I burned a day with my BodyMedia Fit (2500 on rest days, 2900 on workout days). Subtracted over 500 calories per day (ate 2k/day). Stuck to it really well. Gained 2.2 pounds. That's what I like to see.
