Baba,

Thanks for the thoughts. I kind of disagree that you can duplicate the effects of a heavy squat without a barbell, but it doesn't really matter since I don't squat heavy anymore anyways.

The issue isn't really that I can't find time to go to the gym and I don't know how to work out at home, the issue is that I'm a lazy piece of ****. I have plenty of equipment at home that would allow me to recover a decent strength base, I just choose not to use it. For example I have:

Rings
Weighted vest that goes from 4# to 60# in 4# increments
1p, 1.5p, 2p KBs
TRX knockoff
2 types of Ab wheels
small swiss ball
grippers
wrist roller

ETA: I should probably just do P90X.

Alright. Fwiw I don't disagree about the squat, just that the alternatives aren't as bad as many make them out to be and they will have some carryover (up to a point).

9/25 - Full B

Deadlift: 355x3x3
Bench: 225x10?x3
Pull-ups: 2x6, 8 chins
some planks

Squat racks taken and didn't wanna wait so couldn't OHP. Figured I'd do higher reps to on bench to mix it. I guess I'll do incline bench today or something.

Gonna try to have some RFL action during the week to see if I can make progress that way.

Are those pullups/chinups amraps or just random sets

Usually random, but my last set is usually near amrap.

Brief update: I'm still gymming & pseudo-dieting, but logging just seems dumb right now. As with 95% of my career, I'm refusing to bulk and/or gain strength without getting leaner first, and I suck at dieting, so I'm essentially just maintaining & living life. I do foresee stints (I'm in one right now) of actually going hard on the dieting. It may be fantasyland thoughts, but getting under 190 still sounds like something that's doable.

I'm basically doing full body workouts 2-4x/week and cardio 2-3x/week. I'm probably averaging 2.5/1, but that's fine, there's a limit to how correlated my results will be with the gym effort (actually probably higher correlation than causality, but let's ignore that for now).

To keep the gym a tiny bit fresh/interesting, I started learning HBBS. It's feeling good and quite fun. Ramped up from ~165 to yesterday's 245. I'll probably get to 275 no problem, 3 plates doesn't seem like a stretch. It definitely feels shockingly different though.

That's all for now, I'll post major milestones if they happen.

Did you ever read the 4 Hour Body by Tim Ferris? I think you'd find it interesting. I'm only like 10% in but I already find it pretty mindblowing how hard he makes me question everything I thought I knew.

Going through the actual "projects", some of them are very meh, some of them I'm really curious about.

I have not actually, but if you got a pdf or something you can shoot me I'd definitely be interested.

Also I was gonna give an update soon, but since it's bumped anyway I'll just give it now... Was mostly just sitting at 200 lbs maintaining minimum adult human male strength levels (3RMish stuff of 330/275/360 s/b/d kinda territory), enjoying life, not thinking about fitness too much. GF and I started both a cut and training for a half marathon together for end of May now, so I'm looking to weigh in around 192 this week, losing around 1 lb/week. Hoping to get back to 180 ultimately.
