Protein content not accurate.

First link is testing of protein powder from a website that sells protein dirt cheap. OP became suspicious because prices were so low and customer service was so shady.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/comm...can_pure_****/

2nd link, other users sent samples of other brands to be tested

http://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/comm...ement_results/

spreadsheet of results

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...KNm9XOVE#gid=0

OP admits his testing methods were flawed, but results shouldn't be off by much. Gaspari has released a statement responding to their low score.

edit - random lols. bodybuilding.com forum users going crazy flushing powder down toilets and in the bathtub.

lulz

will be interesting to find out how this turns out. Especially the stuff about APW and their "independent lab" likely being totally bogus and the website being ripped off and now no longer being up.

Re: Protein content not accurate.

I have access to the equipment, if we wanted to conduct similar studies on our favorite brands.

Re: Protein content not accurate.

I actually bought 50 lbs of "protein" from awp. On new years or christmas they had a sale where it was like 50 lbs of protein for a little over $200. Which is ridiculously cheap.

If it's too good to be true, it is.

I think it's probably mostly all sugar. Dextrose or something.

What's the H&F consensus on best protein then? Go by that chart?

Re: Protein content not accurate.

on bodybuilding.com there are like 100 page threads discussing this "scandal".

Everyone pretty much loves Optimum Nutrition.

Eggs, beef, chicken, fish and pork are all good imo. They taste good as well.

Re: Protein content not accurate.

If nature had intended for us not to eat animals, it wouldn't of made them out of food.

This is an interesting study. Thanks for linking it. Had always kind of suspected I was being ripped off with a few of the cheaper brands I've bought along the way, with just sucha different texture and taste to them.
