At his levels of strength this isn't out of the question. Assuming no weight gain, he needs to bench ~300 to double. He benches .625x BW currently.

I did 4-5 months in 2008 on SS, but wasn't eating enough, and wasn't recovering properly as was playing/training for rugby 2-3 times per week as well.
if you never got up to 3x5x100kg even under these circumstances, you have no chance of benching 150kg in a year.

Gaiz, there is a chance he unretards himself. I guarantee that almost everyone who has some pussy lift is doing something like an idiot or just being a bitch. There is no way that you have the genetics of someone that should have been culled from the gene pool 30k generations ago. Its just likely you're a moran.

you are more fun when you are being mean 2 other people...

But yeah, i have been retarded in the past. Poor form, no recovery, adding in body weight dips way early, not eating enough, too much cardio, etc. Im not doing those now.

And like i said, i had a shoulder injury so im taking its slow. My 5rm, whilst still weak, would be higher than 67.5kg.

Meh. Anytime someone has a really really bad lift that isn't rapidly improving, its because they're either 1) disabled 2) retarded.

I think doubling your bench is doable in a year, trivial if you gain a significant amount of weight (20-30 lbs). Though not being retarded is a big object to overcome for most.

i'm referring specifically to the language quoted here:

Quote:
I figure I should be aiming for about 140-150kg, as I cant see getting much more than that in a year. Should I aim higher?
it took me 7-8 months to bench over 150kg and i started off with a max of maybe 110kg and lots of prior benching, having benched 300lb years ago before taking a long break from working out.

what was the heaviest 3x5 bench workout you completed in your first 4-5 month stint of SS?

That's like $44 US American dollars right? 2.2*20=44

Hi.

The 140-150kg is what I'm aiming for, not what I'm assuming I can do. Since I'm trying to beat a guy who can already bench 120, would seem silly to aim for 110.

I just checked my old logs. I was actually only doing SS for 3 months, not five, I was doing some semi-retarded dumbbell program before that. I also missed a few weeks in there, and like I said, wasn't eating or resting properly.

My heaviest bench back then was 75. My form totally blowed though. Whilst its certainly not perfect, I think its way improved now.

OK, so re-phrase the question, as a newb starting off from a low level with plenty of linear gains to be had. Can I go from 75 to 110 in 4-5 months?

Re: Prop Bet: Bench & Squat - Who has the best of it?

stuff i quoted makes it sound like you expected to get there and "i dunno, mayyyybe i might hit 160kg, but i'm not sure so i won't shoot too high." i'm saying getting to 150kg will be a miracle given your past experience and that this bet is a push almost 100% of the time.

yes, you might get to a 1rm of 110kg in 5 months. well, you should get to that in 5 months. just don't expect to put another 40kg on in the last 7.

Oh well, we'll see. Not going to log this or anything, but will post updates at the end of every month.
